Who Are The Most Valuable footballers in Europe’s Big-5 Leagues?

The CIES Football Observatory, a respected research group, has released another of their exclusive list of the big-five league players with the greatest estimated transfer values.

Occupying the top three positions of the table are Kylian MbappéRaheem Sterling and Mohammed Salah (Egypt and Liverpool). There are 166 footballers in the big-five valued at more than €50 million. You can read the full report here.

As many as 11 players out of the top 20 with an estimated value of at least 100 million euros are playing their football for English clubs.

Liverpool have three of the costliest players in terms of playing positions, with goalkeeper Alisson estimated at 87 million euros, centre back Virgil van Dijk at 93 million euros and full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold at 110 million euros.

More information about the exclusive approach developed by the CIES Football Observatory research team to estimate transfer values on a scientific basis is available in this methodological note.
