THE MASTERS 2019 – TIPS AND BETTING

The Masters is golf’s Super Bowl, golf’s Champions League final, golf’s … well, everything. The year’s first Major attracts the world’s attention with the manicured fairways of Augusta beautified only by the flowering azaleas.

As with all sport, golf provides a tremendous amount of statistics and scanning the internet, you will find a number of punters offering their rationale in providing tips and insight into who could follow Patrick Reed – you see only three players have gone back to back with the last being Tiger Woods in 2002.

In processing, the history of the event it’s clear to see a few trends being outlined. Only one player has triumphed on debut (Fuzzy Zoeller all the way back in 1979) and only two have won when never having made the cut before (Zoeller and before him, Gene Sarazen in 1936). That being said, the Masters can still offer first-timers and short hitters should some poor weather pull through Georgia. Zach Johnson is a Green Jacket holder and he’s no bomber while Tony Finau finished with a top 10 last year without the strength of two good ankles.

Oh and don’t forget to avoid the Par 3 winner and anyone who misses the cut this week at the Valero Texas Open.
