There’s plenty of horse racing features this weekend, including the Daily News 2000 as well as the Woolavington 2000!

Greyville (Saturday)

Race 2 – Kingdom Of Gold

Kingdom Of Gold looks to have some scope about her and with S’manga Khumalo in the irons, as well as the form having been franked, she does look to be the right one in this contest. The daughter of Pomodoro ran a cracking debut in Johannesburg and should make her presence felt in this field.

Race 4 – Union Square

Union Square looks to be another class package in this contest. The son of Rafeef faces horses that are off a far lower grade than what he has run against and if able to reproduce his ability here, he should bounce back to winning ways.

Race 6 – Rain In Holland

Rain In Holland is the class of this field and comes in with all the graded race requirements to win this contest. The 4-year-old filly gets S’manga Khumalo in the saddle and with Sean Tarry being in exceptional form, she should give him another Grade 1 win from pole position.

Race 7 – See It Again

See It Again is the current ante-post favourite for the Durban July and he does look to be coming into this race in good form. He gets Pierre “Stryker” Strydom aboard and the pair can make history for Michael Roberts by winning this difficult contest.

Kenilworth (Sunday)

Race 2 – What A State

Craig Zackey and Adam Marcus team up with this consistent sort, What A State. If able to bring that same consistency to the race course on Sunday, he should be too hard to beat. Banker him in the bipot and all other exotic bets!

Race 5 – Snow Pilot

Snow Pilot is a 2-year old in open company, so trainer Justin Snaith definitely thinks that he will be up to the task at hand. He tries the 1400 metres for the first time and that see him able come home in front of them all. Its also encouraging that Richard Fourie retains the ride here with his form being franked on a number of occasions.

Race 7 – Minster Monocle

Mister Monocle looks to be a nice sort and gets the services of the ultra-impressive Richard Fourie. He comes in with good form lines to his name and does like the one they all have to beat.

Race 9 – Barzalona

Barzalona drops down in the ratings into a class of horses that he should definitely be able to beat quite comfortably. He gets Aldo Domeyer in the irons for the in-form Candice Bass-Robinson yard and the pair should really be able to close out the weekend in style.
