IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals v Kolkata Knight Riders Betting Tips

The Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders are both loitering in the bottom half of the IPL 2022 table and will be desperate for the two points on offer when they face off today. These two sides have already met once in the tournament this season, where the Capitals beat KKR by a considerable margin of 44 runs.

IPL13 runners-up Delhi Capitals have had an inconsistent season so far being unable to string a row of wins together. They come into this match having lost to current table-toppers Rajasthan Royals. Having to chase down a huge 222 set by the Men in Pink, the Capitals’ did well to come up only 15 runs short. Six of their eight batters made double figures with Rishabh Pant’s 44 off 24 balls their highest.

Pant’s side have scored the most runs in the powerplays this season ( ave – 57.43). It is evident that the Capitals’ focus needs to be on their bowling especially when it comes to the death overs (17-20) where they are conceding 43 runs, with only the Royals leaking more.

Things have not gone too well for Kolkata Knight Riders since their match against Delhi Capitals earlier this month. Entering that game with three wins in four games, they crumbled in a heap against former Knight Rider Kuldeep Yadav, chasing a huge total set up by David Warner and Prithvi Shaw. They have lost four matches in a row, and are only above Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians on the points table.

With some average stats with the ball in hand, it is in the death overs (17-20) with the willow where the Knight Riders’ main concerns lie. They are scoring at a league-worst 9.05 runs per over in this phase, also lamenting the league’s poorest collective batting average (13.36) from the 17th over onwards.

Both sides have struggled to find consistency and their ideal playing XIs but Delhi will have an edge over KKR heading into this game as they beat them earlier in the season. Go for DC to win the game.
