PSL Predictions – Matchday 14 (MIDWEEK)

After a thrilling weekend of Premier Division action, there are two crucial midweek fixtures ahead before clubs switch from league to Telkom Knockout action again.

Straight after defeat to Stellenbosch, Rhulani Mokwena’s Orlando Pirates face another tough test as they travel to Highlands Park on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, SuperSport United have one of the best attacking records in the league, but need to sort out their defence before visiting Bloemfontein Celtic.

This match was initially scheduled as a home fixture for Stellenbosch, but Mamelodi Sundowns are fresh off a 0-0 CAF Champions League draw with Wydad Casablanca and also have the Telkom Knockout final against Maritzburg United ahead of them.

As a result, the match will now be played at Loftus Versfeld to ease the pressure of a congested schedule for Pitso Mosimane’s men. Sundowns will nevertheless have to overcome jetlag and tired legs against a motivated Stellies side.

Steve Barker’s men have their backs to the wall, as Chippa United’s win over Cape Town City has sent the team from the Cape Winelands down to the bottom of the Premiership table.

Pitso Mosimane is likely to rest his best players for this game, so Stellies are backed to pick up a surprise point on the road.

Prediction: 0-0 Draw

Suggested BET: Under 2.5 goals at 0.75

BET: SUN v STL

Golden Arrows host Bidvest Wits in a clash between two high-flying sides at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Arrows sit fourth in the Premiership and have not lost at home in the league this season. Meanwhile, Bidvest Wits are in contention for the title, having picked up 16 points from their first eight games.

Both sides will be looking to bounce back from defeats. Arrows were beaten 2-1 away to Black Leopards in their last game, while Bidvest Wits went down 1-0 to Djoliba in Mali in Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup clash.

The Clever Boys have always been clear that their priority is the league, but like Sundowns, they might struggle to find their groove again after their travels.

As a result, Arrows are backed to continue their impressive home form.

Prediction: Golden Arrows Win 2-1

Suggested BET: Golden Arrows to win at 2.00

BET: GA v WIT
