Arguably the greatest MMA fighter of all time will make his eagerly anticipated return to the Octagon when Jon Jones takes on Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship at UFC 285. The fight will take place on the 4th of March at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
This comes after former champ Francis Ngannou was released from his UFC contract after failing to agree on a new deal with the promotion. This has left a lot of UFC fans disappointed as his title fight with Jones would’ve been one of the biggest fights of 2023.
It doesn't get bigger than this – UFC President @DanaWhite confirms that @JonnyBones will take on @Ciryl_Gane for the ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ heavyweight championship at #UFC285 ๐

Jon Jones last fought in 2020 when he defeated Dominic Reyes by unanimous decision at UFC 247 for his 13th title defence. He then vacated his light heavyweight belt making room for a move to the heavyweight division.
Standing in Jones’ way will be former title challenger Ciryl Gane who recently knocked out Tai Tuivasa at UFC Paris last year. This will be an intriguing fight as I believe Gane will be a tough challenge for Jones who hasn’t fought in two years, let alone fought in the heavyweight division.
The early odds on Bet.co.za have this fight as a pick’em, with both fighters’ odds to win at 1.90.
