Wimbledon 2024

With the Wimbledon Open less than a week before it begins, the women’s title is wide open as most are eager to leave the mark. The World no 1 Iga Swiatek will look to go further in the tournament as in the past has failed to deliver on Grass court. Young sensation Coco Gauff will be one of the players to watch as Ons Jabeur continues her search for a major title. Let’s look at women’s favorite before the competition.

Iga Swiatek

Iga Swiatek has dominated women’s tennis for the past two years. She is a joy to watch and a hazardous player on the court. The Polish international will have to overcome the demons of not performing well on a Grass surface. In their past participation in Wimbledon, Swiatek has managed to reach the Quarter-finals which she achieved last year. Then the 23-year-old five-time Grand Slam Champion opted to skip the Halle Open to be fully prepared for the tournament. That decision indicates her pure intentions of finally delivering remarkable and adding another major title this year after winning the French Open in May.

Suggested Bet: Swiatek to win

Aryna Sabalenka

As one of the leading tennis women players in the world, Aryna Sabalenka will enter the Wimbledon Open main draw as a favorite to win the title. The 26-year-old Belarusian international have one Grand Slam title in her trophy cabinet after winning the Australian Open earlier this year. Her record on Grass Court doesn’t give any motivation though as she has not been excellent at all. In Wimbledon, she last reached the Quarter-finals back in 2019 and will be eager to scrap her unwanted record. She will arrive carrying an Injury after pulling out in the Halle Open Quarter-finals against Anna Kalinskaya. But as a woman used to the big stage, she has a point to prove in England.

Suggested Bet: Sabalenka to win

Ons Jabeur

Can she finally deliver a much-awaited maiden Grand Slam title? This is the question most Ons Jabeur fans are asking themselves as the African Queen is preparing to take part in the Wimbledon Open next week. Last year, Jabeur came agonizing close to recording a history loss into the Wimbledon final despite being bookmakers’ favorite to win the title. Those scars will certainly live up to her and will want to get her hands on the trophy. Time will tell if her dream will finally be achieved.

Suggested Bet: Jabeur to win

Elena Rybakina

As the former champion, Elena Rybakina knows how to win and will want history to replicate itself once again. It has not been a good season for the 25-year-old Kazakhstan-born tennis star as she has been battling with an illness that has prevented her from competing in other tournaments. She will though be among the strong contenders despite not at herself. The world no 4 will have to deliver an astonishing performance to get her hands into the title.

Suggested Bet: Rybakina to win

Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff has shown a huge level of consistency when it comes to the Grand Slam this year. Already this year, she has reached the semi-finals of both the Australian and French Open. Despite falling short on both occasions – the players who have beaten her have gone on to win the title. The 20-year-old will feel the Wimbledon Open presents a perfect opportunity for her to edge closer to winning the title. Plus, there is no doubt that she is giving competitors a big headache before the tournament. Last week, she bowed out of the Halle Open semi-finals in her first Grass Court competition of the season.

Suggested Bet: Gauff to win
