We’ve teamed up once again with Matash, and in his second piece for Bet Central, he focuses on the UEFA Champions League and has created a 10-leg multiple at over 28.00 odds, crazy value here.
Ajax v Beşiktaş
Ajax come into Tuesday’s game in a fine run of form, having won their last six games in all competitions, scoring 29 goals in that time. They were superb in the Champions League as they put five past Sporting. They have since built on that with two more victories heading into Tuesday, as they defeated Fortuna Sittard and Groningen 5-0 and 3-0 respectively to take their points tally to 19 points from seven top-flight outings.
Shakhtar v Inter
Both Shakhtar Donetsk and Inter Milan will be looking to bounce back from opening-night Champions League defeats when they lock horns in Ukraine on Tuesday evening.
Shakhtar started their Group D campaign with a 2-0 defeat at Sheriff Tiraspol on September 15, while Inter suffered a 1-0 home loss to Spanish giants Real Madrid in their section opener. Inter’s superior quality, especially, in the final third should at least see them win a half.
Suggested Bet: Inter to win either half
PSG v Manchester City
PSG’s perfect record in Ligue 1 does not exactly tell the full story given some of their under-par performances, while the potential loss of Messi and the definite absence of Di Maria will certainly be felt in a clash of this magnitude. With six wins from their last seven in all competitions – scoring 24 goals in that time, only two of which have come away from home – City will feel confident about lightning striking twice in Paris, and they are unbeaten in their last 10 Champions League games on the road.
Porto v Liverpool
Liverpool have taken a slight hit to their momentum after their four-game winning run came to a grinding halt at Brentford over the weekend. Saturday’s draw did however represent the fifth match in a row that Liverpool have chalked up a trio of goals. They have won four and drawn one of their last five away games in the Champions League group stages. Liverpool should have enough quality to avoid defeat.
Suggested Bet: Liverpool win/tie
RB Leipzig v Club Brugge
Having managed to end a four-game winless streak across all competitions in emphatic fashion, Leipzig will now seek to reverse their fortunes in the Champions League, as they have lost their last three in the competition and have conceded 15 in their last five European encounters. Brugge have scored in each of their last 6 matches, so this match should produce goals.
Borussia Dortmund v Sporting
Dortmund sit near the top of the Bundesliga scoring charts, with only league leaders Bayern Munich topping their tally of 17 goals from six outings, although more worryingly, their 12 goals conceded is more than any other side in the top half of the table. Whenever Dortmund play there are goals and 4 of their last 5 have produced first-half goals.
Suggested Bet: Over 0.5 – First Half
Atalanta v Young Boys
After an inconsistent start to their domestic campaign, Atalanta have since secured two draws and two victories in their next four matches across all competitions, accumulating seven points from their last nine available in Serie A. With both teams scoring and conceding goals for fun, I expect nothing but goals.
Benfica v Barcelona
Barcelona travel to the Estadio da Luz unbeaten in their last eight Champions League away games, and they have kept clean sheets in each of their last four meetings with Benfica, the most recent of which ended 0-0 at Camp Nou in the 2012-13 group stage.
Although Barcelona have struggled this season, they have enough firepower to hurt Benfica. The Portuguese team always seem to score so I expect goals in this match.
Bayern v Kyiv
Bayern boast an eight-game winning run across all tournaments, Nagelsmann’s side kept their hot streak going and have amassed a staggering 40 goals in their eight-match winning run – an average of five per game. Goals are always guaranteed when the Bavarians play and they should score 3 goals or more in this encounter.
Suggested Bet: Bayern to score over 2.5 goals
Salzburg v Lille
With 13 wins and a draw to boast from their 14 competitive fixtures this season, Salzburg are not in the Champions League just to make up the numbers, and they have scored 15 goals across their last four home wins – including an 8-0 cup thrashing of Kalsdorf. This is a side that guarantees goals whenever they play, Wednesday’s encounter should be no different.
