International breaks are never pleasant to any football lover across the world. However, if a winning bet slip can be produced during club football’s final interval of the year, then all can be forgiven. With the best players in the world on showcase during the FIFA break, we once again take a look at matches to punt on, while also looking for value in each fixture.
21:45 – Croatia v Portugal
After reaching the FIFA World Cup final just two years ago, Croatia will be hoping to avoid the embarrassment of being relegated from their UEFA Nations League group. Portugal, on the other hand, surrendered their trophy and cannot finish higher than France after they lost 1-0 against the world champions. Croatia have so much more to play for here, although the Portuguese do have Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks, who loves breaking a record or two.
21:45 – France v Sweden
World champions, France, silenced their critics with a commanding 1-0 win over Portugal to move on top of their Nations League group, dumping the holders of the competition out of the race for the title. Sweden are bottom of the group, losing four of their five matches. They did, however, beat Croatia 2-1 in their last Nations League encounter.
Suggested Bet: France to win at 1.52
Value Bet: France to win and BTTS at 3.80
21:45 – Spain v Germany
Two of Europe’s biggest heavyweights clash as Spain host Germany in Seville. Both nations still have plenty to play for with a spot in the competition’s semi-final still up for grabs. In the reverse fixture, these sides cancelled each other out, drawing 1-1, however, with home advantage on their side, coupled with the fact that Germany have conceded seven goals in five matches, Luis Enrique’s side will be confident of victory.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 1.76
Value Bet: Spain to win at 2.80
01:00 – Uruguay v Brazil (Wednesday)
Two of South America’s highest-ranked countries lock horns in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Uruguay have not beaten Brazil since 2001, while the Selecao have also won all four of their opening 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Brazil currently top the standings, while Uruguay are in fourth place after hammering Colombia 3-0 last Friday.
Suggested Bet: Brazil to win at 2.55
Value Bet: Brazil to win and BTTS at 4.65
02:30 – Peru v Argentina
Peru will be looking to defy the odds once again when they face Argentina in Lima. Peru are four points off the fifth qualification spot in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers, while they can also take some belief in the fact that they’ve drawn their last three home qualifiers against Argentina. Also, the Peruvians have scored two goals in six of their last eight qualifiers at home. In Argentina’s last match, they drew 1-1 at home to Paraguay, while they’ve also drawn three of their last seven away qualifiers.
