Six Value Bets To Take For This Weekend

We provide six value bets for the start of the new football season, for those who love a bit of a risk and value, check these bets out.

Value Bets Football

It’s the last weekend of domestic action before the first international break of the new season disrupts football’s greatest rollercoaster. There’s been plenty of upsets so far in such a short space of time, so who knows what to expect with more football on the horizon. The beautiful game is probably at its most bizarre point, and with more upsets to look forward to, the least we can do is make a bit of cash on these fixtures.

Nantes v Lyon (Friday)

Yet again, there could be some value worth chasing on Friday night to kick-start the weekend off on a high note. Lyon, who have been struggling this term, travel to Nantes in seek of their first win of the new campaign. The visitors have conceded seven times from three matches and have had some of their best players linked with transfers away from the club. Nantes won their only game at home this season, beating Metz 2-0.

Value Bet: Nantes to win at 4.10

Newcastle v Southampton (Saturday)

It’s been an extremely difficult start to the new season for Newcastle, who are yet to find their stride. The Magpies are yet to claim a point in the Premier League, while they were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup after losing 4-3 on penalties to Burnley. Southampton come off the back of an impressive 1-1 draw against Manchester United last weekend, following that up with a morale-boosting 8-0 victory over Newport County in the Carabao Cup.

Value Bet: Southampton to win at 2.70

Liverpool v Chelsea (Saturday)

In what looks to be the biggest game across Europe this weekend, Liverpool entertain Chelsea at Anfield this Saturday. The Reds and the Blues have had a perfect start to the new campaign, and are both yet to concede a single goal this term. There could, however, be some value in backing Chelsea’s latest record signing, Romelu Lukaku, to find the back of the net here. The Belgian powerhouse scored in his second debut for the Blues this past weekend and showed his class to bully the opposing defenders. Against Liverpool, it won’t be easy, but it’s a gamble worth taking!

Value Bet: Romelu Lukaku to score anytime at 2.50

Real Betis v Real Madrid (Saturday)

The Spanish La Liga has already produced many upsets with just two teams in the division with a 100% record from two matches – none of them being Barcelona or Real Madrid. Los Blancos have four points to their name, conceding four goals at an average of two per game. Real Betis are unbeaten as well this term but have drawn both of their La Liga encounters. With Madrid’s leaky defence after the departure of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, Betis could capitalize, making this game trickier than suggested.

Value Bet: Draw at 3.80

Fiorentina v Torino (Saturday)

Often, punters tend to ignore the so-called lesser games taking place and favour the big ones. Here, with Fiorentina taking on Torino, there may be some value with this match with draw written all over it. Fiorentina and Torino got off to a losing start in the Italian Serie A last weekend, highlighting that it could be a long season for the struggling duo. Neither side give the confidence to back them to claim maximum points here.

Value Bet: Draw at 3.40

Golden Arrows v Mamelodi Sundowns (Saturday) )

Two-legged cup ties can always be tricky, especially in the first leg. Mamelodi Sundowns have had an indifferent start so far, coming off the back of a goalless draw against Chippa United in midweek. Downs lacked ideas and played into Gavin Hunt’s tactics. Golden Arrows lost in midweek to SuperSport United, but knocked them out of the quarter-finals of the MTN8. In Clermont, Arrows have known to have a formidable record and can certainly hold their own against Sundowns.

Value Bet: Golden Draw
