PSL Predictions – Matchday 20

With Mamelodi Sundowns out of league action this weekend due to CAF Champions League commitments, Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to stretch their lead at the top of the PSL table. However, an old coach of theirs will be out to spoil the party.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates can continue their winning run with another three points at home, while Cape Town City and Stellenbosch will be out to continue their resurgence.

Cape Town City host Black Leopards on Friday at Cape Town Stadium. Both teams have just picked up positive results and will be looking to kick on, putting some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

Lidoda Duvha drew 1-1 to Kaizer Chiefs in their last match while Cape Town City beat another title-chaser, Bidvest Wits, 2-0.

Home advantage is likely to play a big role in this game with Leopards’ famous home fans unable to give them an extra boost. Cape Town City have the better squad and should come away with the victory.

Prediction: Cape Town City 2-1 Black Leopards

Suggested BET: City to win and over 2.5 goals at 2.35

BET: CTC v LEO

SuperSport United look to bounce back from a derby defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns at the Lucas Moripe Stadium against a solid Chippa United in a clash between two Zimbabwean coaches.

Kaitano Tembo and Norman Mapeza have each done their country proud so far this season. However, there can only be a maximum of one winner on Friday night.

Chippa beat SuperSport United in December, but Matsatsantsa are tipped to claim revenge on home soil to stay very much alive in the hunt for CAF Champions League football.

Prediction: Supersport Win 1-0

Suggested BET: Supersport to win and under 3.5 goals at 1.00

BET: SSU v CHI

Stellenbosch host Polokwane City on Saturday at Cape Town Stadium looking to build on back-to-back victories against Highlands Park and Baroka.

Polokwane City picked up a 1-1 draw with Golden Arrows in their last game, but they still lie a lowly 15th on the table.

Although Rise and Shine appear to be finding their feet under Clinton Larsen, they have still picked up only one win in their last 14 games in all competitions. Given their good form and home advantage, Stellies are tipped for victory.

Prediction: Stellenbosch Win 1-0

Suggested BET: Stellenbosch to win 0.85

BET: LEO v KC

Steve Komphela hosts his former side as Kaizer Chiefs visit Golden Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium, where he presided over his last game as Amakhosi boss.

Chiefs suffered a setback in a 1-1 away draw to Black Leopards, but their form this season has been tremendous. Arrows are still trying to emerge from a rut, having won one of their last six fixtures.

They have shown time and time again this season that they can stand up to South Africa’s big guns, but Arrows are likely to lose against a well-oiled Chiefs machine.

Prediction: Kaizer Chiefs Win 2-1

Suggested BET: Chiefs to win and over 1.5 goals at 1.15

BET: GA v CHI

Baroka continue their relegation battle as they host Maritzburg United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday. A 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch meant they missed out on an opportunity to give themselves some breathing space.

Maritzburg continued their fine form with a win over AmaZulu on Friday and are a difficult team to beat, but home advantage will count in Baroka’s favour and should be enough to help them to a draw.

Prediction: Orlando Pirates Win 2-0

Suggested BET: Pirates the only team to score at 0.85

BET: PIR v AMA

Baroka continue their relegation battle as they host Maritzburg United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday. A 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch meant they missed out on an opportunity to give themselves some breathing space.

Maritzburg continued their fine form with a win over AmaZulu on Friday and are a difficult team to beat, but home advantage will count in Baroka’s favour and should be enough to help them to a draw.

Prediction: 0-0 Draw

Suggested BET: Draw and under 4.5 goals at 2.20

BET: BAR v MAR
