MTN8 PREDICTIONS – SEMIFINALS
After two weeks off from top flight club football due to the international break, the PSL did not disappoint upon its return over the weekend. Now, it’s time for some scores to be settled in the MTN8.
There are two exciting midweek fixtures in store. We correctly predicted draws for the first leg encounters, but this time, each tie has to have a winner.
Should the aggregate scores remain level at full-time, away goals will decide the winners of the semi-final ties.
If the teams still can’t be separated, then we will see penalty shootouts without extra time.

After a goalless first leg stalemate, Highlands Park and Polokwane City are set to face off again. Home advantage will favour the Lions of the North at Tembisa’s Makhulong Stadium.
Highlands Park have also had the benefit of added time to prepare. Owen da Gama’s men have not been in action since their last match against Rise and Shine.
Polokwane City are riding high after a 1-0 upset win over Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium, but it would have been different had Amakhosi taken their chances.
Take nothing away from Polokwane City, but they are likely to be worn out after an emotional weekend. Zlatko Krmpotić’s men are expected to come crashing down to earth.
Prediction: Highlands Park Win 1-0 (1-0 agg.)

All eyes will be on the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium for the rematch between the two Tshwane giants. Sundowns have the benefit of an away goal after a 1-1 first leg draw although that match was at the same venue as Wednesday’s clash.
The Brazilians might be shaking off jet lag after a 5-0 CAF Champions League first round win over Côte d’Or in the Seychelles. However, Sundowns have no shortage of depth and quality. Having rested key players over the weekend, they will be raring to go.
SuperSport United have been among the most exciting PSL teams this season so far, but their defensive vulnerabilities were exposed in Saturday’s 3-3 draw to Cape Town City. Kaitano Tembo’s charges have no option but to push forward as they look to cancel out Masandawana’s away goal.
Sundowns are a side on a mission having not lifted this trophy since 2007. Pitso Mosimane’s men are predicted to edge his former employers and book their final place.
Expect no shortage of goals between two sides brimming with attacking quality.
Prediction: Mamelodi Sundowns Win 2-1 (3-2 agg.)
