Tuesday
Cape Town City v Kaizer Chiefs
Cape Town City let a 1-0 lead slip over the weekend, on their way to being knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Royal AM. They were joined by Chiefs a few hours later, who failed to even find the net on their way to elimination against TS Galaxy, so both teams will be desperate to put a smile on their fans’ faces. Interestingly the odds have Cape Town City as slight favourites here, maybe due to their home form.
1 – City has lost just one of their last 10 home matches since May last year, winning four of the last five with a healthy 10-goal return.
There have been Over 0.5 goals in all 10 matches between the sides, the most any match involving City has gone without a goalless draw.
You can bet on a draw/ Chiefs to win
You can bet on less than 2.5 goals
Maritzburg United v Supersport United
Just a few days after Supersport eliminated Maritzburg from the Cup, the two sides will meet again. Supersport would have booked an expensive extended stay at their hotel stay in KZN in anticipation of this fixture, but that won’t matter to Stan Matthews if they can win both games. It’s hard to see Maritzburg getting revenge here. They have one win in this game in six years, drawing three and losing 10 of those games with a single clean sheet to show for their efforts. Their current form doesn’t inspire confidence either:
1 – Maritzburg has one win in 15 matches across all competitions (D6 L8) and has not won any of their last 11 (D5 L6).
You can bet on a draw/ Supersport to win
You can bet on Maritzburg scoring less than 1.5 goals
Wednesday
Orlando Pirates v Golden Arrows
Through to the next round of the Nedbank Cup, and with three points on the board in their CAF group, Orlando Pirates are flying high at the moment. Mandla Ncikazi’s side is enjoying their best run of form since he and Davids took the hot seat, with four consecutive wins in all competitions. It’s been two years since a Pirates side won five in a row across all competitions, and a win here will help them open some breathing space from the pack that is chasing Sundowns.
Pirates haven’t won a match against Arrows in five attempts, but the bookies make Arrows a long shot to win here (7+ odds), which could entice the brave punters. That said, this is usually a tepid affair.
4 – Since the start of the 2019/20 season, four of the five matches between these sides have been goalless – more than any other fixture in that time.
You can bet on Pirates to win/ a draw
You can bet on under 1.5 goals
