The Euros this year will follow the same format as Euro 2016, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the last 16 along with the four best third-place finishers.
Here’s who we think will end up winning their particular groups.
Group A: Turkey, Italy, Wales and Switzerland
Italy are certainly the favourites to top this group especially with their good form since the appointment of Roberto Mancini in 2018. They are now on a 22-game unbeaten run under the Italian after reaching the final four of the Nations League. Turkey, Wales and Switzerland are all good sides but Italy will end up topping this group.
Suggested Bet: Italy to win at 1.55
Group B: Denmark, Finland, Belgium and Russia
This is an interesting group with decent sides but Belgium are ranked first in the FIFA World rankings and have been there for a while. Roberto Martinez has done a wonderful job reaching the last four of the Nations League this year and also finishing third in the World Cup in 2018. They have a number of world-class players and will be hoping to go all the way to the final.
Suggested Bet: Belgium to win group at 1.68
Group C: Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia
The Dutch have not been the same since the departure of Ronald Koeman with some lacklustre performances under new coach, Frank de Boer. Ukraine on the other hand are a settled side with a young coach in Andriy Shevchenko whose team remained unbeaten in 2019 and qualified for this competition in some style.
Suggested Bet: Ukraine to win group at 5.00
Group D: England, Croatia, Scotland and Czech Republic
England will be confident of finishing first in this group even though they will face a tough challenge from Croatia, who beat them in the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup. The Croats have not looked the same since reaching the World Cup Final but are still a good side with good players but England should get the better of them this time around.
Suggested Bet: England to win group at 1.37
Wildcard Bet: Croatia to win group at 2.75
Group E: Spain, Sweden, Poland and Slovakia
La Furia Roja will also be confident of finishing first in this group, Luis Enrique has done a decent job with the national side also giving a few players like Adama Traore and Ansu Fati their first caps for the national team. Spain are through to the last four of the Nations League after their 6-0 thrashing of Germany in the group stages. They will also be hoping for a much more improved Euros campaign after they were knocked out in the round of 16 by Italy in 2016.
Suggested Bet: Spain to win group at 1.30
Group F: Hungary, Portugal, France and Germany
This is definitely the group of death and picking a winner out of this group is not easy with the world champions and the defending champions both in this group and you can never underestimate the Germans. Judging from recent form, Germany will have to try to be one of the four best third-place teams in order to qualify for the next round. France managed to beat Portugal to go through to the last four of the Nations League which could prove to be pivotal heading into the Euros.
Suggested Bet: France to win group at 1.25
Wildcard Bet: Portugal to win group at 4.50
