Here’s our advice on which games to have a punt on as you look to build your bankroll.

Villarreal v Eibar (Saturday – 16:00)

Despite starting the season with a 1-1 draw to Huesca, Villarreal are still one of the teams to watch.

Unai Emery’s men dominated possession in their opener and had the majority of shots in the game, but couldn’t finish Huesca off.

At least Francis Coquelin was able to start for his new team and Takefusa Kubo came off the bench.

Eibar finished 14th last season and began this campaign with a 0-0 draw to Celta Vigo. Papakouli Diop picked up a sending off for two yellow cards and will be suspended for the trip to Villarreal.

On home soil, it is difficult to see past a win for The Yellow Submarine.

Suggested Bet: Villarreal win at 1.57

Getafe v Osasuna (Saturday – 18:30)

Getafe may be the home team for this encounter, but Osasuna are the form team.

Their run of six wins from their last nine La Liga matches includes a 2-0 away win against Cádiz in their season-opener last weekend.

They have the chance to build on a credible 10th-placed finish last season, which was their first back in the top flight.

Getafe, meanwhile, lost five and drew two of their last seven competitive fixtures in 2019-20. They have yet to kick off the new campaign, which could put them at a slight disadvantage.

While it may be best to err on the side of caution with this one as far as the win market goes, Osasuna offer superb value for money in the +1 handicap market.

Suggested Bet: Osasuna +1 Handicap 1.83

Celta Vigo v Valencia (Saturday – 21:00)

Celta Vigo survived relegation by the skin of their teeth last season, whereas Valencia struggled to hit top gear. The evidence suggests this will likely be a chaotic fixture.

Celta tends to take the game to their opponents when they play on home soil. Their last four home La Liga fixtures have all seen goals at both ends.

Valencia, meanwhile, began the season with a 4-2 win over Levante. They will have been pleased to start off with three points despite the apparent financial crisis they are facing, but it appears they are liable to concede plenty of goals. Last season, they let in 53 over the course of the league campaign.

All of this points to a strong possibility that there will be goals at both ends at the Estadio Municipal de Balaídos.

Suggested Bet: BTTS at 1.83

Granada v Alavés (Sunday – 18:30)

Granada finished last season with a 4-0 home win over Athletic Bilbao and began 2020-21 with a 2-0 triumph in a repeat fixture.

Despite their solid form and impressive seventh-placed finish last season, Granada are paying above evens to beat Alavés, who finished 16th.

Alavés began the new campaign with a 1-0 home defeat to Real Betis and are unlikely to fare better on the road.

Suggested Bet: Granada Win at 2.05

Real Sociedad v Real Madrid (Sunday – 21:00)

Real Madrid return to league action to begin their title defence on Sunday away to Real Sociedad. After their Champions League exit are the hands of Manchester City, they will likely be fired up to prove a point in 2020-21.

Los Blancos have won 10 of their last 11 La Liga fixtures, and with the quality in their ranks, Zinedine Zidane would expect victory in just about every match — even away from home.

Sociedad are no whipping boys, but Real Madrid should be too strong for them.

Suggested Bet: Real Madrid Win (0.74)
