FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: Prize Money

The 2022 FIFA World Cup commenced yesterday, which saw the host nation losing its opening game, and the first host ever to lose its opening game.

On this 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup prize money is at an all-time high with the winners taking home $42 Million ( Over R700 Million). All 32 teams will receive an amount of $1.5 million (R155 Million) just for appearance and taking part in the tournament.

Runner-up – $40 Million (R690 Million)

Third Place – $27 Million (R466 Million)

Fourth Place – $25 Million (R431 Million)

Quarter-Finals exit – $17 Million (R293 Million)

Round of 16 exit – $13 Million (R224 Million)

Group Stages exit – $9 Million (R155 Million)
