FA Cup Final Betting Preview and Predictions
London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea meet in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. The two clubs have a storied history in this competition and this match is just as significant for both clubs who have two former players as managers; both in their first season and in search of their first piece of silverware. Victory for either Mikel Arteta or Frank Lampard will be a reference point for their respective tenures.
Form
Arsenal finished eighth in the Premier League, a disappointing result for the Gunners. Mikel Arteta was appointed manager in December but needs more time before turning his old club into a top-four side. However, the Gunners have won three of their last four matches, including wins over Liverpool and Manchester City in that period.
Chelsea secured fourth place in the Premier League on the final day of the season and are unbeaten in the last three meetings between the two sides, scoring at least twice in all three games. The Blues won 2-1 at the Emirates in the Premier League this season before a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Neither side is defensively sound and it should prove an entertaining evening at Wembley.
Team News
Mikel Arteta must decide between Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac as one of Arsenal’s three central defenders in Saturday’s FA Cup final. If Tierney starts, then breakout star Bukayo Saka will start at left wing-back for Arsenal.
Besides that, the rest of Arteta’s starting side should be straightforward. Nicolas Pepe will hope to get picked alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in Arsenal’s attacking trio.
N’Golo Kante has returned to training after missing Chelsea’s Premier League run-in but may only make the bench. With Willian set to leave Chelsea after the final, there is doubt as to whether Lampard will him. If Willian is benched, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic will upfront with Olivier Giroud, who favoured over Tammy Abraham.
Kepa Arrizabalaga was sensationally dropped for Chelsea’s final league game of the season, Willy Caballero is expected to start again.
