Golden Boot Euro 2020 odds and tips

Euro 2020 got off to a blistering start in the group stages as we saw plenty of twists and turns, while we also got to witness Cristiano Ronaldo break a few more records. Now, with just 16 teams left in the competition, the business end of the tournament will finally get underway this weekend as we take a look at some of our best outright selections on offer.

Euro 2020 – Top Goalscorer

Sunday night’s Round of 16 clash between Portugal and Belgium will be a telling story as far as the top goalscorer award goes. Cristiano Ronaldo (1.68) currently leads the charts in Euro 2020, netting five goals in three matches, scoring in every encounter he has played in thus far.

Ronaldo is also on penalty duty, and considering some of the dubious decisions we’ve seen in the tournament already, backing Ronaldo at 1.68 may seem like a sensible thing to do. Should Ronaldo progress with Portugal, he will face the winner of Italy and Austria, and then go on to potentially face France again, whom he previously netted a brace against.

Ronaldo’s biggest rival for the award is Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku (6.00), who has three goals in as many matches for the Red Devils thus far. It all depends on who progresses to the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 between the two European giants, and after Ronaldo finished as top scorer in Italy with Juventus, Lukaku will be hoping to outshine the Portuguese goal machine on the international stage.

One player who can cause a surprise this tournament is Netherlands’ Georginio Wijnaldum (16.00). The newly-recruited Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is level with Lukaku on three goals and has a fairly easy path to the latter stages. Wijnaldum seems to be proving that his best position is further forward in midfield, in and around the striker. The Netherlands have looked decent in attack and Wijnaldum has been the key to that success, so perhaps one to keep an eye on in the upcoming days.
