Lyle Foster Standouts In Premier League Opener

Lyle Foster became the 17^th South African to feature in the Premier League when he started for Burnley against the current champions Man City. He was the clear standout for Vincent Kompany’s side as they made their return to the Premier League. 

The Bafana Bafana international had a superb outing causing trouble down the left flank for City. He will clearly be an important attacking outlet for the Clarets at Turf Moor.

James Maddison Will Be Perfect Fit For Spurs

Spurs began life without Harry Kane against Brentford in the Premier League and there were good signs under the new captaincy of Son Heung-Min. They could only get a draw against a determined Brentford side. 

New signing James Maddison was a clear standout, he showed the same kind of ingenuity that Kane brought and was the perfect fold with Son. There is reason to be optimistic about this signing for Spurs as he looks like the perfect fit.

Newcastle Make Their Intentions Known

In a demolition job of Aston Villa, Newcastle made their 23/24 ambitions known. It was an impeccable team performance as debutant Sandro Tonali scored to mark a memorable day for Eddie Howe’s side

The team was incredible on the transition and pressed up high leaving Villa with no room to breathe. Unai Emery’s side had no answers to a side that is looking very good early on.

Enzo Fernandez Masterclass

In the game of the weekend between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, there were plenty of debutants on show and many of them impressed including Alexis MacAlister and Nicholas Jackson. There was one player who was clear of all of them, Argentine Enzo Fernandez.

He was the best player on the park and perhaps throughout the entirety of Matchday 1. He controlled the match from midfield and ensured the Chelsea attack was fluid going forward. He will be very important if Mauricio Pochettino is to propel Chelsea back to Champions League football.

Chelsea Get Their Man

There is still quite a bit of time left in the market, but this past week in the Premier League, all eyes have been on who would eventually land the coveted signature of young Columbian midfielder Moises Caicedo. Liverpool seemed to be winning the race for a while, but eventually, Chelsea came out tops as the 21-year-old signed an 8-year contract on Monday. 

The signing seems like the completion of a midfield that will dominate most midfield with Caicedo alongside the brilliant Enzo Fernandez. The 2 young midfield will be key to Chelsea changing their fortunes this season.
