Liverpool face Tottenham in the English Premier League on Sunday evening.

Liverpool face Tottenham in the English Premier League on Sunday evening. The Reds can be champions if they win the match, whilst Spurs languish 16th in the EPL table. Liverpool have scored 14 goals in their last four clashes with Tottenham.

Match: Liverpool v Tottenham
When: Sunday, 27 April 2025, 17:30
Where: Anfield Stadium

Liverpool Form

Arne Slot’s side have had an incredible season and will finally seal the title if they win this match. They saw themselves lose the Carabao Cup final and were eliminated from the FA Cup and Champions League. They dropped points in six of 13 league matches but have responded with six wins in their last seven league fixtures.

They lost on penalties to PSG after losing the second leg 1-0 at Anfield and conceding 48 shots over the two legs. A 2-1 loss to Newcastle in the League Cup final preceded a 1-0 win at Everton. The Reds lost 3-2 at Fulham but two narrow wins have followed. They beat West Ham 2-1 and won 1-0 at Leicester last Sunday.

Liverpool Team News

The only injury for Liverpool is to Joe Gomez. Trent-Alexander Arnold is set to come back into the XI for this one, having scored the winner last week from the bench.

Andy Robertson is expected to replace Kostas Tsimikas at left back. The only area we might see changes is in attack, where Diogo Jota or Curtis Jones could come into the front three.

Liverpool Motivation

Motivation at Anfield will be very high. Liverpool are desperate to seal the title in front of their own fans.

It won’t be an open, risky style. The Reds have been churning out results with fatigue taking it’s toll in recent fixtures.

Tottenham Form

Spurs have lost 11 of their last 21 matches across all competitions. In the league, they have just five wins to their name in 21 fixtures. After losing 2-0 at Fulham and 1-0 at Chelsea, they beat Southampton 3-1. A 1-1 home draw followed vs Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Tottenham lost 4-2 at Wolves in the league despite having 63% of the ball. They went to Germany and beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 in the second leg with an uncharacteristic 39% possession. Their league woes showed no signs of ending as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Nottingham Forest last Monday despite dominating 22-4 on shots.

Tottenham Team News

Radu Dragusin is with a long-term injury. Kevin Danso and Ben Davies could start at the back to protect Cristian Romero and Micky van de Wen. Richarlison could lead the line with Heung-Min Son rested for the home game vs Bodo/Glimt.

Ange Postecoglou may rest other players like Destiny Ugodie, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke. Archie Gray and James Maddison may come into the XI.

Tottenham Motivation

Postecoglou’s side is focused on the Europa League. This match does not hold any real importance to their league position.

Spurs may be happy to lose this match as long as it’s by a narrow margin and they don’t suffer any injuries.
