Bernardo Silva decided to extend his stay at Manchester City after being linked with a move to Barcelona and PSG. The Portuguese maestro joined City in 2017 as a 22-year-old from French side Monaco. Bernardo has been a key figure in Man City’s success over the year, winning five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and the Champions League that the club won for the first time in their history.

Bernardo will be at Etihad until 2026, and delighted to extend his stay at the club. When asked why he decided to extend his contract with the club, Bernardo suggested he wants to win more trophies with Man City.

“Well, wanting to keep winning, I am going for my seventh season at City, and since I have arrived I remember one season where we were not successful, so to be here until now means trophies, means winning a lot and I like to win”.

The prolific playmaker described his stay at Etihad as a dream come through in terms of what he has achieved with the club and the prospects of what they can still achieve. In six years they have won 5 Premier League titles and other important trophies. Making them the most successful English team in the last decade. One of Bernardo’s dreams and goals now is to win 4 league titles in a row, something that has never happened in the history of English football.

“When you think that no one has ever done it before if you do it makes you feel a bit more special”.

The news of Bernardo Silva extending his contract comes after his coach Pep Guardiola had a back surgery in Barcelona, and will miss two upcoming City games.
