Bet Central’s Moments of the Weekend: 17-19 July
The team at Bet Central and watched a lot of sport this weekend so check out our list of things we loved from the sporting weekend.
Leeds United are BACK!!!
Leeds United will return to the Premier League after a 16-year absence has been when of the best-received promotions by the general public at large. Led by the obsessive Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds United sealed a return to the big leagues for one of Englands’s best-supported clubs.
It has been a dramatic 16 years for Leeds United. From their heartbreaking from the Premier League to the lows of League One, The play-off near misses, the mid-table mediocrity, the madcap owners and the many managers.
They can finally celebrate

Inspired Arsenal
Mikel Arteta might be onto something with his Gunners side. They beat Manchester City 2-0 in the FA Cup semi-final, a team that has dominated Arsenal in recent years.
The swagger was palpable in one of their goals this weekend which involved the whole team and started in their own box. Really impressive stuff. Arsenal fans deserved this.

Zinedine Zidane an elite manager?
Real Madrid win another La Liga title, although they defeated a less than vintage Barcelona side this campaign. But we have to discuss Zidane… this was his 11th piece of silverware as a manager. It feels as if the football world we have been reluctant to acknowledge his status as an elite manager? He has back-to-back-to-back Champions League titles as well. The conversation needs to change.
11 titles in 209 games as Real Madrid manager.

AB de Villiers still SA’s best?
There was finally live sport in South Africa in the form of 3TC – a new cricket format from CSA – and although the format was new, a player from South Africa’s past gave a quick reminder of his skillset. The player in question is AB de Villiers, he scored 61 runs in 24 balls showcasing his range of batting skills and evoking memories within fans of why he could be an asset at the T20 World Cup.
The format itself was underwhelming but was helped over the line by the desperation to see some sport in South Africa.
Meanwhile, @ABdeVilliers17 has shown us today that there is no rustiness at all to his batting. Incredible. Has almost certainly set up a win for his team. In a different league so far today.

Dom Sibley does it for the purists
The team at Bet Central love a good hit and giggle but we are purists at heart. So England opening batsman Dom Sibley’s century was very well received and reminded us about the value of a ‘proper’ Test batsman are to the game.
Proper Test 100 …. Well played @DomSibley ?

Santi Cazorla gets a standing ovation
Cazorla was told he would never play football again after spending two years out injured. In 2018, he returned to Villarreal. Today, he said farewell to the club after 15 goals and 9 assists this season
