With a thrilling Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League done and dusted, attention switches swiftly to Europe’s top five leagues. Heading into the penultimate game week before the October international break, we are back with our best bets in an effort to help you make some extra money.

Chelsea v Southampton (Sartuday)

Following a 1-0 home defeat against Manchester City, Thomas Tuchel’s side will welcome the chance to get back to winning ways quickly and will be encouraged by Southampton’s poor form this season. The Saints are yet to win in the Premier League this season and come into this game on the back of a 1-0 home loss to Wolves.

Suggested bet: Chelsea to win
Value bet: Chelsea to win to zero

Brighton v Arsenal (Sartuday)

Arsenal takes on Brighton at the Amex Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday. Graham Potter’s men have made a bright start to the new season, racking up 13 points from their six games so far. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s form since suffering a 5-0 loss at Man City has improved drastically as they’ve managed to conjure up four wins in a row, across all competitions. Having completed the double over Brighton last season, Mikel Arteta’s side will be confident of continuing their winning streak.

Suggested bet: Both teams to score
Value bet: Arsenal to win and both teams to score

Borussia Dortmund v Augsburg (Sartuday)

Borussia Dortmund faces Augsburg in the Bundesliga this weekend and they will look to bounce back from the defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach last week. Marco Rose’s side will welcome the return to the Signal Iduna Park where they’ve won seven in a row, failing to score 3+ in just one of those wins. As for Augsburg, they’re winless in their last nine matches on the road, losing seven times.

Suggested bet: Dortmund to win
Value bet: Dortmund 1-handicap

Arminia Bielefeld v Bayer Leverkusen (Sunday)

High-flying Leverkusen take on Arminia Bielefeld at the Bielefelder Alm on Sunday. Gerardo Seoane’s men are second in the Bundesliga with 13 points from a possible 18, only losing once, 4-3 to Borussia Dortmund, thus far. Meanwhile, Arminia Bielefeld, who sits 16th in the table, is still without a win in the Bundesliga and comes into this game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Union Berlin.

Suggested bet: Leverkusen to win
Value bet: Leverkusen 1-handicap

AS Roma v Empoli (Sunday)

Roma welcomes Empoli to the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A action on Sunday. After two straight defeats away from home, the Giallorossi will be expected to produce a strong reaction in front of their own fans. Jose Mourinho’s side has won eight in a row on home soil across all competitions and will be seeking a fourth straight win over Empoli. However, with the Tuscan side on a two-match winning streak and having beaten Juventus in Turin at the start of the campaign, they certainly won’t be pushovers.

Suggested bet: Roma to win
Value bet: Roma to win and both teams to score

Sassuolo v Inter Milan (Sartuday)

Inter Milan takes on Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium in Serie A action on Saturday. After dropping points at home to Atalanta in a 2-2 draw last weekend, Simone Inzaghi’s men will be hoping to get back to winning ways in their bid to defend their crown. Having done the double over their opponents last season, the Nerazzurri will be expected to claim all three points. Meanwhile, Edin Dzeko will be hoping to find the net once again after scoring in three consecutive Serie A games.

Suggested bet: Inter Milan to win
Value bet: Dzeko to score first

Espanyol v Real Madrid (Sunday)

Real Madrid takes on Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium in La Liga on Sunday. Following their humiliating loss to Moldovan outfit Sheriff Tiraspol at the Bernabeu in the Champions League, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will be hoping to take all of their frustration out on the Catalan club as they look to maintain their unbeaten start to the La Liga season. Can Espanyol avoid a fifth straight defeat against Los Blancos?

Suggested bet: Real Madrid to win
Value bet: Real Madrid 1-handicap

Getafe v Real Sociedad (Sunday)

In-form Real Sociedad is expected to stroll past bottom side Getafe on Sunday as they seek to continue their fine start to the La Liga season. Sitting second in the league standings, Imanol Alguacil’s men have picked up 16 points from a possible 18 so far. The Azulones, meanwhile, have made their worst ever start to a La Liga campaign, failing to pick up any points from their seven games. A meeting against one of the division’s in-form teams comes at a very difficult time for the Madrid-based side.

Suggested bet: Real Sociedad to win
Value bet: Real Sociedad to score in both halves

Nice v Brest (Sartuday)

Nice welcome Brest at the Allianz Riviera in Ligue 1 action on Saturday. Christophe Galtier’s side has started the season with an impressive set of results and sits third in the standings, a point behind second-placed Lens, having played a game less. On the other hand, Brest has failed to win any of their eight matches this season, placing them into relegation danger as they occupy the 19th spot.

Suggested bet: Nice to win
Value bet: Nice to win to zero

Rennes v PSG (Sunday)

Paris Saint-Germain takes on Rennes in Ligue 1 action on Sunday at Roazhon Park. Mauricio Pochettino’s side has been in unstoppable form with eight wins out of eight in the league and is already nine points clear of second-placed Lens. With confidence sky-high and the firepower they possess, the Parisians will be confident of putting Rennes to the sword and taking another step towards reclaiming the title.

Suggested bet: PSG to win

Value bet: PSG to win both halves
