There were many interesting moments surrounding football last weekend. Some teams were crowned champions of their division, some were relegated, while the main focus was the protests of fans in Manchester, who halted Man United’s game against Liverpool. As usual, during this point of the season, crazy things tend to happen, so amongst the chaos, let’s look to build that winning 10-leg bet slip!
We cater for everybody here at BET Central, so let’s see what’s cooking on the menu this week:
Premier League
Leicester City v Newcastle (Friday)
Leicester City and Newcastle kick-start the weekend’s action on Friday night as the Foxes look to solidify their place in third spot behind the two Manchester clubs in the English Premier League. The hosts are currently unbeaten in three league matches and look set to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League with just four games to go. Newcastle United look to be safe from relegation and showed last week in their 2-0 defeat against Arsenal that they may just have their feet up for the rest of the campaign.
Suggested Bet: Leicester City to win
Value Bet: Leicester City to win both halves
Leeds United v Tottenham (Saturday)
Tottenham have enjoyed their recent rejuvenation under Ryan Mason where the team looked to have taken the shackles off and are now playing with a lot more freedom. Gareth Bale has also returned to the side and has been amongst the goals again, taking the burden off Heung-min Son and Harry Kane. Leeds United love playing against the league’s big guns, and have endured some recent success over England’s heavyweights. With home advantage, Leeds will surely give Spurs a game and a half here.
Serie A
Parma v Atalanta (Sunday)
It’s been an incredible season for Atalanta who occupy second spot behind the Italian champions, Inter Milan. Funny enough, Parma have had quite the opposite season and lie second from the bottom. Parma have lost six of their last seven encounters, including their last five matches in a row. Atalanta are undefeated in eight ties and have scored 79 goals – more than any other team in the division.
Suggested Bet: Atalanta to win
Value Bet: Atalanta to win by 3 or more goals
Roma v Crotone (Sunday)
Roma will have the opportunity of using this game to get their frustrations out after being dumped out of the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League by Manchester United on Thursday. They host a Crotone side who have officially been relegated. To their credit, Crotone do have one shining star in their ranks in the form of Nigerian striker Simy, who has netted 19 times this campaign. Roma have one of the best home records and Italy and should cause further misery on the struggling visitors.
Value Bet: Roma to win & both teams score
Bundesliga
Bayern Munich v Monchengladbach (Saturday)
Bayern Munich’s dominance looks set to continue as they count the days to lift yet another piece of silverware in the German Bundesliga. The Bavarians boast a healthy lead at the top of the standings and now host a Monchengladbach side who have struggled for consistency of late. The visitors won 5-0 in their last league encounter, but failed to win in their last two away trips in the league. With Hansi Flick’s time running up at Bayern before Julian Nagelsmann takes over, the UEFA Champions League-winning boss should bow out in style.
Suggested Bet: Bayern Munich to win
Value Bet: Over 1.5 goals both halves
Borussia Dortmund v RB Leipzig (Saturday)
Suggested Bet: Borussia Dortmund to win
Value Bet: Borussia Dortmund to win & BTTS
La Liga
Real Sociedad v Elche (Friday)
Real Sociedad have established themselves as the best from the rest in the Spanish La Liga as they sit in fifth spot behind Barcelona, Sevilla and the two Madrid clubs. With just four matches left to play, Sociedad will be confident of reaching the group stages of next season’s UEFA Europa League. Elche are in 19th spot in the league but still have a chance of overcoming their relegation struggles, being just one point off safety. The visitors do, however, have the worst away record in the division, which doesn’t bode well for their chances against one of the best sides in Spain.
Suggested Bet: Real Sociedad to win
Value Bet: Real Sociedad -1 handicap
Athletic Bilbao v Osasuna (Saturday)
Athletic Bilbao will be high on confidence after their emphatic 1-0 victory at Sevilla last weekend. That result stretched Bilbao’s unbeaten run to eight matches in the Spanish La Liga, where they have kept four clean sheets in that period. Osasuna have lost back-to-back games in the division and have scored the joint-least amount of goals away from home this term.
Suggested Bet: Athletic Bilbao to win
Value Bet: Athletic Bilbao to win to zero
Ligue 1
Lyon v Lorient (Saturday)
Lyon claimed one of the most surprising results of the season last weekend, putting an end to Monaco’s superb five-game winning streak, beating them 3-2 away from home. That result took Lyon within a point off Monaco with the hosts looking to get back into the UEFA Champions League after last year’s season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic, where they were in seventh spot at halfway. From 17 away games this term, Lorient have won just once – the least from all 20 teams in the league.
Value Bet: Lyon to win to zero
Reims v Monaco (Sunday)
Monaco will be looking to return to winning ways when they make the trip to Reims this Sunday. The visitors’ five-game win-streak ended last weekend as they lost 3-2 to Lyon at home. Monaco are still third on the table and have a mathematical chance of still winning the league. Reims are languishing in the bottom half of the standings and are winless in five games.
Value Bet: Monaco to win both halves
