Watford v Man United (Saturday)

Manchester United will travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford in the Premier League on Saturday. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under severe pressure at Old Trafford and cannot afford a repeat of his side’s performance the last time they visited Vicarage Road where the Hornets claimed a stunning 2-0 win. Antonio Conte will take charge of his first Premier League home game as Spurs boss when his side host Leeds United on Sunday. But Harry Kane scoring seven goals in England’s two qualifiers doesn’t bode well for a Leeds side yet to keep a clean sheet away from home this season.

Barcelona v Espanyol (Saturday)

Barcelona entertain Espanyol on Saturday in the first Barcelona city derby of the season. The game will mark the start of a new era under Xavi – who succeeds Ronald Koeman as Blaugrana manager – and the 41-year-old will aim to get his club back on track and challenging. Espanyol will be out to end a 15-match away winless streak (W0 D5 L10), but Barca have got the better of them of late, unbeaten in their last 22 La Liga matches (W17 D5 L0).

Real Sociedad v Valencia (Sunday)

Real Sociedad will be looking to maintain their place at the top of the La Liga standings when they host 11th-placed Valencia at the Reale Arena on Sunday. Imanol Alguacil’s men have made a superb start to the 2021/22 season, losing just once in 13 games, winning eight and scoring 19 goals in the process. They are unbeaten on home soil, winning four in six games in front of their fans. Valencia meanwhile are winless in four away matches, losing three times.

Wolfsburg take on relegation-threatened Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga on Saturday. As for Wolfsburg, Florian Kohfeldt has made an immediate impact since replacing Mark van Bommel, guiding the Wolves to two straight Bundesliga wins over Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg, keeping clean sheets in both of those games.
