It’s that time of the week again when we run through a selection of the most exciting matches taking place this weekend and offer our best bets and value picks.

Arsenal v Leeds (Saturday)

Premier League leaders, Arsenal, will be hoping to keep a sizeable gap between themselves and champions Manchester City when they host Leeds on Saturday. The Gunners are on a six-game winning streak in the league and look ready to compete until the wire for their first league title since 2004.

Suggested bet: Arsenal to win
Value bet: Arsenal to win and both teams to score

Man City v Liverpool (Saturday)

Manchester City faces a familiar foe in their quest for the title when they face Liverpool in the opening Premier League match of the weekend. City have been almost faultless at their turf, winning 11 of their 13 ties played at the Etihad, losing just once. Liverpool, on the other hand, have won just three of their 13 matches on the road. There is a huge absentee for Man City in Erling Haaland which could level the playing field in some ways.

Suggested bet: Both teams to score
Value bet: Man City to score in both halves

Elche v Barcelona (Saturday)

It’s top vs bottom in the Spanish La Liga as Elche entertains high-flying Barcelona. It seems like the hosts are destined for the drop to Segunda, while Xavi has brought back some of the Barca flair to the current fold as they lead the standings by a staggering 12 points. Barca have won 11 of their 13 trips and should add to that glorious tally here.

Suggested bet: Barcelona to win
Value bet: Barcelona to score Over 3.5 goals

Celta Vigo v Almeria (Sunday)

Almeria remains in search of their first win on the road in the Spanish La Liga when they travel to face Celta Vigo this weekend. The hosts are unbeaten in four league encounters, winning three times. In that run, Celta have scored nine goals, conceding just once. As mentioned, Almeria have the worst record away from home, losing nine of their 12 encounters.

Suggested bet: Celta Vigo to win
Value bet: Celta Vigo to win to zero

Union Berlin v Stuttgart (Saturday)

Union Berlin currently sits third in the German Bundesliga, but as history suggests, there is very little shame in being runner-up behind heavyweights Dortmund and Bayern Munich. The pair meet each other this weekend so Union Berlin will have that in mind in hope of closing the gap between themselves and the top two. Stuttgart are rooted to the foot of the table and are yet to win on the road.

Suggested bet: Union Berlin to win
Value bet: Union Berlin to win half time

RB Leipzig v Mainz (Saturday)

RB Leipzig returns from the international break hoping for a bit of an upturn in form. They’ve lost two of their last three matches and are finding too many inconsistent patches in their run of games. Leipzig are, however, unbeaten at home in their last three ties across all competitions, including against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.

Suggested bet: RB Leipzig to win
Value bet: RB Leipzig to win and Over 3.5 goals

Juventus v Hellas Verona (Saturday)

Juventus boast one of the finest home records in the Italian Serie A this season and would have been lying in the second spot had it not been for their point-deduction earlier on in the campaign. They now face a Hellas Verona side that has not won all season away from their turf.

Suggested bet: Juventus to win
Value bet: Juventus to win to zero

Napoli v AC Milan (Sunday)

Napoli have set the standard and have looked like one of the best teams in Europe this season. They’ve showcased their talent in the UEFA Champions League, as well as domestically where they lead the Italian Serie A standings by 19 points. AC Milan are starting to show some inconsistencies in their play of late and have looked shaky, particularly away from the San Siro.

Suggested bet: Napoli to win
Value bet: Napoli to win and both teams to score

PSG v Lyon (Sunday)

After being dumped out of the UEFA Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain have just one big prize on their agenda for the season. PSG seem to be a runaway leader at the moment and will have Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi who shone for their countries during the international break. Lyon have won just one of their last five league games but will find some encouragement from earning three successive draws in the division.

Suggested bet: PSG to win
Value bet: Lionel Messi to score first

Sporting v Santa Clara (Saturday)

The best bet across the globe comes in Portugal as a rampant Sporting Lisbon faces a toothless Santa Clara side on Saturday. Sporting have won four league matches in a row and are fresh off the back of knocking Arsenal out of the UEFA Europa League. Santa Clara are bottom of the standings in Portugal’s top flight and looks set for a long end to the season.

Suggested bet: Sporting -1handicap
Value bet: Sporting to win both halves
