It’s that time of the week again where we run through a selection of the most exciting matches from Europe’s top leagues taking place this weekend and offer our best bets and value picks.

Newcastle v Liverpool (Saturday)

The race for the Premier League title continues when Liverpool travels to St. James’ Park to face a rejuvenated Newcastle United side. The hosts have won their last four league encounters, although Liverpool seems to be a cut above the rest of the division, seeking their 25th win of the campaign. The Reds will be playing before Manchester City so could lead the standings by the time their title rivals step foot on the pitch.

Suggested bet: Liverpool to win

Value bet: Liverpool to win both halves

West Ham v Arsenal (Sunday)

West Ham are treated to yet another London derby this Sunday when they entertain Arsenal. Last time out, the Hammers suffered a 1-0 defeat at Chelsea after rotating their squad with Thursday night European action in mind. Arsenal won their last two matches, emphatically beating Chelsea and Manchester United to book a spot in the top four.

Suggested bet: Arsenal to win
Value bet: Arsenal to win and Over 2.5 goals

Real Madrid v Espanyol (Saturday)

Inevitable Spanish LaLiga champions Real Madrid get back to business this weekend as they looked to be crowned winners of the 2021/22 season. Los Blancos have won the last four successive matches in the league, but a huge cause for concern will be whether or not their main focus will be their return leg in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League against Manchester City.

Suggested bet: Under 2.5 goals

Value bet: Half time draw

Barcelona v Mallorca (Sunday)

Barcelona have been disappointing in the Spanish LaLiga in recent weeks, losing their last two home matches by a single goal to nil. They have, however, looked sharp under Xavi before those defeats, overturning a huge points deficit to sit in second place. Mallorca have won two of their last three league ties, so should give a decent account of themselves.

Suggested bet: Barcelona to win

Value bet: Barcelona to win and both teams to score

Union Berlin v Greuther Furth (Friday)

Union Berlin will be overwhelming favourites to move one step closer to European football when they host Greuther Furth, who are rock bottom in the German Bundesliga standings. Union Berlin have won four games on the bounce, while the visitors hold the unwanted record of being the only team in the division who are yet to win on the road this term.

Suggested bet: Union Berlin to win

Value bet: Union Berlin -2handicap

Mainz v Bayern Munich (Saturday)

Mainz will be hoping to keep their place in the top half of the table, sadly they host the champions, Bayern Munich. It hasn’t been smooth sailing for the hosts who are without a win in five matches, losing three times. Bayern have been ruthless and have won five league ties in a row. After being crowned champions yet again, the Bavarians could tinker with their squad.

Suggested bet: Over 3.5 goals

Value bet: Over 1.5 goals in both halves

AC Milan v Fiorentina (Sunday)

AC Milan will be looking to maintain their lead at the top of the Italian Serie A when they host Fiorentina. Milan are unbeaten in 12 league games, winning the last two ties in succession. The travelling side are seventh on the log and are on a two-game losing streak. With much more to play for, it’s tough to look past Milan on home soil.

Suggested Bet: CA Milan to win

Value bet: AC Milan to score both halves

Juventus v Venezia (Sunday)

A dark cloud seems to be hovering over Venezia who have a few more games in the top flight before making their return to the Italian Serie B. They’ve lost eight matches in a row and lie down in last place in the standings. Juventus have the top four to keep intact, whilst also pushing for a place higher up the table. They’re unbeaten in three games and should claim maximum points.

Suggested bet: Juventus to win

Value bet: Juventus -2handicap

Strasbourg v PSG (Friday)

Paris Saint-Germain are priced up at hefty odds after winning the French Ligue 1 title last weekend. PSG have won it for a record-equaling 10th time now and it remains to be seen whether they change up their line-up for the remaining matches. Strasbourg dropped out of the top four after losing 1-0 at Lille last weekend. The hosts should give a decent account of themselves with more to play for.

Suggested bet: Both teams to score

Value bet: Draw

Rennes v Saint-Etienne (Saturday)

Rennes have been superb this campaign and are in the hot seat for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League. The hosts have scored 75 goals in 34 matches this term – only PSG have scored more. On home soil, not even PSG can match how many goals they’ve put past their opponents, banging in 46 goals. Saint-Etienne are in the relegation play-off spot after being smashed 4-1 by Monaco last weekend.

Suggested bet: Rennes to win

Value bet: Rennes to win both halves
