A big weekend in the Six Nations as we head into Round 4 with a blockbuster clash between England and France. We cover each match in the Six Nations this week with the best bets provided.
Italy v Wales
Saturday 13 March – 16:15
Italy go into this game in poor form and will need a monumental effort to beat an in-form Welsh outfit at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Scrum-half, Stephen Varny is back in training having sat out the defeat to Ireland in their previous game.
Wales on the other hand head into this game in imperious form having a 100% record in the competition so far. They wrapped up the Triple Crown in style against England. Although Wales should dominate this match, the spread is a generous one which I’d back Italy to cover.
England v France
Saturday 13 March – 18:45
Twickenham will play host to the latest instalment of Le Crunch, this fixture has taken place 107 times with England winning 59 times and France winning on 41 occasions with 7 draws. Eddie Jones’s England will be looking to salvage a poor campaign, the England head coach named Max Malins at fullback.
France are looking for their first Grand Slam title since 2010 and have named an exciting backline for this huge clash. England are desperate for a result but expect this to be close with the French perhaps edging them.
Scotland v Ireland
Sunday 14 March – 17:00
Scotland host Ireland at Murrayfield in the last Six Nations’ game of the weekend. They are fifth on the table having just played two games winning once against England and losing to Wales. They have included Nick Haining and Rufus Mclean in a 34-man squad for Sunday’s game, with Adam Hasting banned for the game.
Ireland are coming into this game sitting third in the Six Nations table with one win against Italy followed by defeats to Wales and France. Jacob Stockdale returns to the side after the winger missed the opening three matches due to injury. I reckon backing the Scots at home will be the right way to go on this one.
Best Bet: Scotland to win at 2.20
