If you thought Lions and Springbok winger Aphiwe Dyantyi was the fastest player in South Africa, you weren’t alone! When Dyantyi intercepted near his own line in the Currie Cup semi-finals and got away with a few metres start, again you’d be forgiven for thinking it was a nailed on try…

But then you probably hadn’t counted on Sharks speedster Aphelele Fassi. The 20-year-old former Dale College pupil put the afterburners on and toppled the king of speed with a blistering chase and tackle.
