THE COOLER: ED WOODWARD, RACING GUNFIRE, LEO MESSI, THE CRUNCH…
That was the weekend that had just about everything in terms of sport. Rugby, cricket, golf, grand slam tennis.. The only thing that was missing was the Springboks and they are back in action this weekend in the Rugby Championship.

You don’t earn legendary status at BET Central for nothing. Steve Komphela is back and again he’s got some pearls of wisdom for under fire striker Thamsanqa Gabuza. Well said Steve!
As Brendan Rogers would say, “Great Human Being Awareness!”
What Steve Komphela told Gabuza???????? Much respect to the former Kaizer Chiefs coach, what a human being he is!
Retweet if you liked what he said to Gabuza! pic.twitter.com/lDu9pLT38h

We just heard the news that Alistair Cook will be hanging up his boots at the end of the India series. After winning the Ashes four times, playing 158 consecutive Test matches and being the highest English run scorer and most centuries, we understand when he says he’s ‘got nothing left in the tank’. What a remarkable career!

To say Leo Messi was on fire this weekend is a bit of an understatement! Barca went a goal down early, but came back convincingly to ease to an 8-2 win over Huesca and, in the process, go above Real Madrid on the La Liga log.
Messi passed up a chance to thump home his hattrick from the penalty spot in injury time when he handed the ball to Luis Suarez who grabbed his second of the game.

There were some grumbles this weekend when racing at Turffontein was cut short due to a burst water pipe, but things need to be taken in perspective. Gunshots rang out at Del Mar in really scary scenes this past weekend.
