Horse Racing Tips: Time to Find Winners This Easter Hunt

There’s plenty of fascinating horse racing action to look forward to this long Easter weekend with plenty of value on offer.

Fairview (Friday)

Race 1 – Paris Lass

Paris Lass holds the best form of the raced runners in the opening race at Fairview on Friday. The 2-year-old Chestnut filly has finished runner-up in both her starts to date, while it is also encouraging to see S’manga Khumalo retain the ride for the Gavin Smith stable. She gets a wide draw up the straight and should take a power of beating.

Race 5 – Slings And Arrows

Jockey S’manga Khumalo could be worth following once again in Race 5 as “Bling” sits aboard Slings And Arrows. The son of Trippi finished a close third behind Mount Anderson in much tougher company last time out. Now, the big danger in the race is Blonde Act who has been running over all sorts of distances, albeit winning in his last four runs. Slings And Arrows has won 3 of his last 5 starts and should give the favourite a run for his money.

Race 7 – Silverlinks

Sliverlinks makes the trip to the Eastern Cape and looks to be the class of the race here. The talented 3-year-old daughter of Silvano has won three of her last five runs and with jockey, Muzi Yeni aboard, the Justin Snaith-trained filly will be hoping her raid goes well and she can emulate her Cape Town form.

Turffontein (Saturday)

Race 2 – Rose Tinted

It was a glorious return to the track for Rose Tinted who came back to fight it out and get the better of Real Relief last time out. With this being her second run after a rest, the daughter of Flower Alley will be cherry-ripe and could make her impressive gate speed count. She gets a neat draw of barrier gate 3 and is a massive runner in this contest.

Race 5 – Free Movement

Ryan Munger is once again the jock to follow here aboard Free Movement. The Robbie Sage-trained gelding has shown plenty of consistency in his last couple of starts and looks like the right horse to get out of the maidens. He finished second over this distance last time out and should go one better.

Race 8 – Smith And Wesson

Marco van Rensburg has just a single ride on Saturday and won’t be heading to the track for nothing. He sits on Smith And Wesson’s back for the Paul Matchett stable and looks tough to oppose on his last run. The son of the United States showed plenty of speed in his last start to draw clear of the field and could repeat that feat.

Scottsville (Sunday)

Race 2 – Star Performer

Star Performer will look to live up to his name and win at the second time of asking. The 2-year-old What A Winter colt finished third on debut and may have just been in need of the run. With the experience under his belt, he should be tough to oppose.

Race 6 – Noble City

Richard Fourie and Peter Muscutt will be looking to have a successful day together when they raid KZN with Western Cape runner, Noble City. He’s had two good runs to date, winning on debut before finishing third behind Wyag, and now with the form lines franked, he should take a huge power of beating.

Race 8 – Isivunguvungu

Isivunguvungu returns home to KZN ahead of the Champion Season and looks to be the standout runner in the race. He gets the services of top jockey Richard Fourie for the Peter Muscutt yard. The 4-year-old gelding finished third in a Grade 1 last time out, where there have been multiple winners from the form lines.
