Race 3 – William West
William West comes into this contest with good form to his name and gets Richard Fourie in the irons. If the pair can continue their form in this contest, they should be very hard to beat here. How he stayed on in his comeback run under Fourie suggests he could bring up another winner for the Justin Snaith yard.
Race 4 – Apple Catcher
Apple Catcher didn’t enjoy the bend at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time and is now back to the Kenilworth straight where he has enjoyed two very good seconds, and with Richard Fourie in the irons, he should be able to break the maiden here at the fourth time of asking.
Race 7 – Happy Chance
Happy Chance was very impressive in her last start as she sneaked through on the inside to win going away. She goes over the extra furlong today and if coming on from that run, she should be too good for this field.
Race 8 – Rockpool
Rockpool drops back to a trip where has endured good success and as he is receiving weight from the older horses in this contest. The son of Futura does look to be extremely hard to beat and looks like a possible banker in all exotic bets, especially with Richard Fourie in the saddle.
Race 2 – Icy Blast
Icy Blast brings impressive Cape Town form to Scottsville and ran a decent fourth in a Grade 3 last time out. This is his first run as a gelding, while he is also taking on maiden company, being the only winner in the race. This does look to be one of the best bets of the weekend.
Race 3 – Main Defender
Main Defender was brilliant on debut over the 1100m. The son of Pathfork goes over the 1400m trip here and he does look like he will enjoy it, especially with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle. He’s the only winner in the race and will look to show his class in this field.
Race 4 – Trusova
Sean Veale looks like the jockey worth following on Sunday as he mounts aboard Trusova in Race 4. The son of Oratario ran just under a length behind the winner over this course and distance in his debut run and will come on with that experience to get out the maidens here.
Race 9 – Certainly
The value bet of the weekend comes in the final race as Jason Gates looks like a massive runner with Certainly for the Glen Kotzen yard. The daughter of Wylie Hall has been finishing off her races nicely over shorter ground and should relish the step up in trip to 1200m. Certainly, one to follow here.
