The Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup began in 1923, it was the United States vs. Great Britain, which continued until 1971. For four events, it included Great Britain and Ireland. In 1979 up to this day, it includes all of Europe.

This year’s edition is taking place at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Italy in two days, the much-anticipated golf team competition between the U.S. and Europe was last played in 2021 and won by the United States.

Zach Johnson (U.S.) and Luke Donald (Europe) will lead their respective teams coming into this year’s competition, with the United States having an upper hand, winning two of the last three editions. Luke Donald left the fans puzzled in a media briefing, stating we shouldn’t read too much into Tuesday’s practice round pairings.
