7 RYDER CUP BETTING TIPS FOR YOU

The Ryder Cup is upon us, but many are wondering what markets and what players to bet on at this marquee golfing event.

Join us as we look a little deeper at the different markets on offer and give some of our insights on what might unfold.

We’ll even offer a few of our best betting suggestions from the BET Central team.

Like all the markets, you want to dig into which players can tick all the key boxes: compatibility, in-form and likely to play the most matches. Here the American duo Justin Thomas and Bryson DeChambeau hold the advantage over their European counterparts, Jon Rahm (18/10 to be top European rookie) and Tommy Fleetwood (22/10 to be top European rookie).

Thomas (8/10 to be top American rookie) has been playing great stuff for a while now while DeChambeau (22/10 to be top American rookie) looks set to partner Tiger Woods. Both are likely to play four matches with Fleetwood the best European option although if he loses early then he could be benched for one or two matches.

TIP: DeChambeau to be Top Rookie

The obvious choice would be Rory McIlroy. He’s shown patches of good form and ability to go low plus he’s the unofficial leader of Europe. Jim Furyk no doubt will send his best out to neutralise his threat and that yet pay off. Justin Rose is priced up at the same odds (9/2) but he could be nullified much like Rory. Who else is going to play at least four game and win many of them? Tommy Fleetwood. Yes, he’s on debut but making it on “home soil” will help settle the nerves. He’s in great touch and will likely be paired with experienced stars.

TIP: Tommy Fleetwood to be top European

You have to look past the first four players to find the pair of Jordan Spieth (7/1) and Patrick Reed (8/1) and that’s an extremely attractive proposition with the combination tried and trusted. Reed – or Captain America for this week – must be top priority for the Americans and despite being lined up for a bunch of marquee games, his form and value make him a good bet. Another option would be Brooks Koepka, no longer a rookie – although he scored well in 2016 – and likely to see lots of game time in Paris.

TIP: Patrick Reed to be top American

The stats and trends point to a European claiming this honour and taking out the players listed in other categories, it would be unwise to choose between Rory and Rose. Both are likely to play in all sessions and both are desperate to show their best. Looking for a Team USA player to back? Reed at 20/1 looks like generous odds.

TIP: McIlroy or Rose to be top combined points scorer

Top USA Wildcard: Bryson DeChambeau

Top European Wildcard: Ian Poulter

Exact Score: Europe 14 ½ USA 13 ½
