West Indies v South Africa Second Test – Players To Bet

The Proteas’ victory over the West Indies in the first Test broke their barren run away from home. Mark Boucher’s men had lost nine consecutive Tests on the road and another win will secure the series in Saint Lucia. 

The West Indies will be looking to level the series tomorrow, so let’s have a look at the players who could play a pivotal role for both sides.

West Indies

Kraigg Brathwaite

The West Indies captain did not have a great time with the bat in the first test match, scoring 22 runs in the entire match. His side usually relies on him to occupy the crease and in doing so, score big runs. He was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje in both innings and will be hoping to nullify the two South African speedsters and get his side off to a solid start with the bat.

Jayden Seales

Despite losing heavily to the Proteas, Seales had a fantastic test debut in the first test match. He ended with figures of 3 for 75 at an economy rate of 3.57. He was unlucky not to get a second go at the South African batsmen as the Proteas were only required to bat once in the match.

“He is a bit of a danger and a very exciting future lies ahead for West Indies with him in the line-up,” said South African pace bowler Lungi Ngidi as he hailed Seales’ potential. He’ll definitely have a huge role to play if his team are to level the series.

Aiden Markram

There’s no doubt that Markram is a talented player and has a very high ceiling but he needs to start producing great performances on a regular basis to fulfil his undoubted talent. He’s coming off a good series in Pakistan and a fantastic CSA 4 day series. He scored a very solid 60 of 110 balls in the first test and was dismissed by Seales with a great delivery. I wouldn’t put it past the Proteas’ opener to score a big tomorrow 

Kagiso Rabada

KG Rabada will be going into the second test full of confidence after taking his first five-wicket haul for the Proteas since 2018. All three of the Proteas’ pacemen seem to be in good form which does not bode well for the West Indies especially if Rabada has found the form that once made him the best bowler in test cricket.
