South Africa will be eager to finish off the work when tackling India in the second Test Match at Newlands in Cape Town.

South Africa

South Africa will enter the match as the prime favorite to win the match. This comes after managing to beat the opponents in the first match. A win now will guarantee them a series victory. It won’t be easy as we see it as India will want to fight out. Since 1992, India has come into the Newlands Stadium thrice in a decider match. But this time, things are a little bit different. In the first match, Proteas were clinical in all departments which ended up providing no answers to the opponents.

Dean Elgar who is playing his final match in Proteas colors gave the visitors problems with the bat. He had a knock that got people talking about his talent. It made fans pleading that the batsman must be convinced to make a u, -turn regarding his retirement. Over a decade, since Elgar was part of the national set-up, he has been one of the vital players. It no doubt he was asked to captain the side on 17 occasions. Another player who had a quality time in the first match has to be Kagiso Rabada. The talented fast bowler ended up moving to the seventh all-time list in terms of taking the wickets with incredible numbers of 287. These two players will be crucial in the match as expected to provide heroic performances.

India

Since arriving in South Africa in December, India has been on top winning ODI and T20 series. But now has no chance to claim a Test series with the best results it can be a draw. Far from disappointed, India will need to correct the mistakes from the first match and have to do it fast. Since 2014, India has been left empty-handed whenever visiting South Africa and playing a test match. The possibilities are high for them to see history repeating itself.

In the first match, the Indians had no answers to the masterclass bowling attack shown by the Proteas. As such, they ended up losing. In no surprise that India is expected to make a couple of changes in the starting line-up. Prasidh Krishna, who made a test debut in Centurian didn’t quite deliver with the ball. So, he is expected to be replaced by Avesh Khan in the team. Ravindra Jadeja is expected to come back to the team after missing the first match due to a back injury. These changes will strengthen the team to be more competitive.

Predictions

South Africa to win at 2.10
