South Africa play host to Australia for a month-long limited-overs tour that will include three T20Is and five ODIs. The ODI series will form part of preparations for the upcoming Cricket World Cup that will take place in India in October. Dewald Brevis, a rising talent from the Titans and former SA U19 batter, has received his first call-up to both the T20 International (T20I) and one-day international (ODI) squads.

The 20-year-old made headlines by emerging as the top run-scorer at the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in January 2022, amassing an impressive 506 runs, a record-breaking feat for any batter in a single edition of the tournament.

Joining Brevis in the T20I squad for the first time are his fellow Titans teammates Donovan Ferreira and Gerald Coetzee. It’s worth noting that Coetzee, a versatile player, might add to his collection of test and ODI caps if he is selected. Additionally, Matthew Breetzke has also earned his place in the squad.
