Aiden Markram has been appointed the new Proteas’ T20I captain replacing Temba Bavuma, who’ll lead the ODI and Test sides. The news came after CSA announced the squads for the ODI and T20 series against the West Indies.
The 28-year-old has had a fantastic start to 2023 after leading Sunrisers Eastern Cape to SA20 glory, which led to him being appointed as the Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper for the upcoming IPL 2023 season. He recently scored a hundred in his return to the Test side, which came as a huge relief after struggling in the red-ball format in the last few seasons.
In other news, JP Duminy has been appointed as the new full-time white-ball batting coach and Rory Kleinveldt as the interim white-ball bowling coach.
