Jofra Archer To Join MI Cape Town As Wildcard Signing For SA20

England’s Jofra Archer is set to join MI Cape Town as their wildcard signing for the maiden season of the SA20. Archer hasn’t played a competitive match since July 2021 due to injuries and is currently playing for the England Lions in Abu Dhabi as part of their training camp.

He was also signed by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL who own the MI Cape Town franchise and has been retained for the 2023 IPL season despite his struggles with injuries. The Englishman joins an already star-studded side with the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Dewald Brevis and Rashid Khan also in the squad.

The SA20 will run from the 10th of January until February 11, with a short break in late January for the Proteas’ re-arranged ODI series with England.
