IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants v Gujarat Titans Betting Tips

Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans sit first and second in the IPL table respectively, with 14 points apiece from a possible 20.

We have a top-of-the-table clash in Match 57 of IPL 2022. Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans sit first and second in the IPL table respectively, with 14 points apiece from a possible 20. The two teams now face off in their second encounter of this IPL edition with the Titans looking to do the double over the Super Giants this afternoon.

We’ll be previewing this match and providing betting tips and the players to watch.

Betting Preview

Lucknow come into this match on the back of a huge 75-run win over KKR. A rare failing from captain KL Rahul (0) was made good by Quinton de Kock who registered his third fifty-plus score (50) of this edition and along with double-figure scores from five of the middle order batters, helped them post a competitive 176/7 off their 20 overs. Three wickets apiece from MOTM Avesh Khan (3/19) and also Jason Holder (3/24) were too much for KKR.

With some of the best stats in both disciplines, the Super Giants will be looking at areas for improvement. The batsmen will have to start getting the ball over the ropes more often as they are averaging just 7.09 per match, with only RCB and the Titans scoring fewer.

While Super Giants are coming off four wins on the trot, Titans suffered consecutive defeats against Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. Having lost the match against Mumbai by a small margin, there were a few positives for Hardik Pandya’s men, with Shubman Gill and the captain back among runs after failures in the recent games. A stable batter at No. 3 is still a concern for them, but thanks to match-winners like David Miller, Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan, the Titans have managed to stay ahead in the playoffs race.

Like the Super Giants, Ashish Nehra’s men have some fine stats with both bat and ball, but are also struggling in their pursuit of maximums, scoring the fewest of all franchises (ave-5.18 per match).

This match will come down to which team does well with both bat and ball which is why I see the Gujarat Titans walking away with two points.

Key Stat

Saha has an average of 51.7 against the pacers this season.

The average first innings score this season at the MCA Stadium is 173.

The Titans have hit 57 sixes from 11 matches compared to the Super Giants who have hit 78 from their 11.

Mohsin Khan’s first 17 overs in the IPL for Lucknow have harvested figures of 9/91, with an economy rate of just 5.35 rpo.

Gujarat have played two matches at the MCA, winning both.

Although riding high at the top of the table, neither side has broken the 200-run barrier in their first innings.

Players to Watch

Lucknow’s naturally gifted left-handed batsman Quinton de Kock is having another excellent season having made 344 runs at an average of 31.27, with a healthy strike rate of 138.70. If he can see out the powerplay overs, he will be likely to once again face Gujarat’s genius wrist spinner Rashid Khan (104 IPL wickets – ave 21.28) who has restricted him to just 52 runs from 49 deliveries in past T20 matches.

Best Bets
