Betting Preview

The ninth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is between two well-balanced teams, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Both teams have always fought tooth and nail whenever they’ve met. SRH and MI have played on 16 occasions, winning eight times each. With the match being held at the Chepauk Stadium, expect a thrilling contest on Saturday night.

MI, after losing the first match of the tournament, bounced back with a remarkable win over Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR were in full control of the match for the first 35 overs and at one point they needed 31 off 30 balls with 7 wickets in hand. MI scripted an incredible turnaround to come triumph by 10 runs. MI spinners Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya brought them back in the game with brilliant spells before Bumrah and Boult finished it off at the death. Suryakumar Yadav looked in great touch, however, Mumbai’s opening pair and lower-middle order are a huge concern for them.

SRH are coming into this match with two losses. SRH have been very poor so far, tactically and with the bat and ball. In the first match, the decision to send Samad in late cost them while in the second match, they collapsed from a winning position. Their death bowling looked completely out of sorts as they leaked 39 runs in the last three overs, on a track where scoring runs was extremely difficult at the back end. SRH also need to rejig their batting unit to do better going forward. David Warner’s return to form is a good sign for them but they can’t be fully dependent on him.

Injury and Availability News

Mumbai Indians’ pace bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile is carrying a niggle and might not be available. Sunrisers Hyderabad had concerns around their batsman Kane Williamson’s fitness and he might not be match-ready yet.

Pitch and Conditions

The M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai has traditionally been a nightmare for batsmen. After producing relatively high scoring games in the first two matches, the Chepauk is back to its usual nature. The track is slow and gets harder to bat on as the innings progresses. The last two matches at this venue have seen scores of 152, 142, 149 & 143.

Key Players to Watch Out For

Ishan Kishan: The pocket dynamo from India made a scintillating start to his international career just recently, with a blistering 56 off 32. Ishan Kishan was the highest run-getter for Mumbai Indians and played a big role in them winning the 5th title. The southpaw amassed 516 runs at an average of 57.3 and an impressive strike rate of 145.8. Kishan will have to play a massive role for MI against SRH as an LHB counter to Rashid Khan.

Rahul Chahar: The Rajasthan player is one of the most promising leg spinners in the world and he’s constantly improving his game. Rahul Chahar picked 15 wickets in IPL 2020 at an economy of 8.17. For Mumbai Indians to do well this season, Chahar has to produce a great season with 9 matches on spin-friendly surfaces. Rahul Chahar bowled a brilliant spell of 4 for 27 against KKR in the second game and will be looking to carry his form forward.

David Warner: The Australian batsman is known for his destructive batting abilities. David Warner has carried the Sunrisers Hyderabad batting unit on his back for years. He has put on 500+ runs in the last six consecutive IPL seasons he’s been part of. After falling cheaply in the first game, Warner made a terrific comeback with a 54-run knock against RCB. Warner will be itching to go big against Mumbai Indians.

Rashid Khan: The Afghanistan leg spinner is undoubtedly the best T20 spinner in the world with his mystery unknown to most batters. Rashid Khan, who’s generally very threatening in T20s, is more deadly on the slow spinning surfaces of the Chepauk. His record against MI is exceptional and he’ll once again enjoy bowling against them. Rashid Khan has so far picked 4 wickets in IPL 2021 and his economy rate sits at incredible at 5 25 rpo.

What Bets To Take
