IPL 2020: Match 59 – Qualifier 2 – Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Preview, Prediction, Probable Playing XI and Value bets
Betting Preview
In the penultimate game of Dream 11 IPL, Delhi Capitals will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad to join Mumbai Indians in the finals. The Capitals received a heavy defeat against Mumbai in the first qualifier whereas SRH beat RCB in the eliminator by a narrow margin.
Delhi Capitals have been very inconsistent in the tournament and their recent form has been horrendous. After scoring two consecutive centuries, Shikhar Dhawan now has 3 ducks in his last 4 games. In their most recent game against Mumbai Indians, Delhi’s batting line-up crumbled under pressure and lost first 3 wickets without a single run on the board while chasing a mammoth total of 200. The batting has been highly unstable and has collapsed frequently in the second half of the season.
They peaked way too early in the tournament and had looked invincible in the tournament. Now, they seem to have run out of steam and have lost 4 of their last five games. They are still alive in the competition only due to their sensational start to the tournament. The duo of Nortje and Rabada that had looked unstoppable at one time have started becoming predictable and are getting hammered for runs. The top performers of the team have run out of form all at once and they need to put their A-game forward in the remaining two games to win their maiden IPL title, which looks impossible given the current scenario.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have done remarkably well to script a dramatic turn-around and have won all of their last 4 games. They had managed to win just 4 of their first 11 games and had looked all set for a bottom half finish but they picked their form in just the right time to make it to the playoffs for the 7th time in their 9 seasons. The injury of an in-form Wriddhiman Saha will hurt them but they will be relieved by the way their top players have stepped up in the last few games to get their team over the line.
The fact that they had dominated both Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians in their last encounters will add on to their confidence. David Warner has a history of doing well in the play-offs and with his current form, Hyderabad’s chances will depend greatly on him. Rashid Khan needs to find his mojo back and a weak Delhi batting line-up is ideal for that. The addition of Jason Holder has added the missing spark to the side and they look well on track for their second IPL glory.
Injury and Availability News
Wriddhiman Saha (SRH) had missed out in the last game against RCB and may not be available.
Probable Playing XI
Delhi Capitals
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane/Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer (c), Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey (wk), Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Tushar Deshpande, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje
Sunrisers Hyderabad
David Warner (C), Shreevats Goswami (wk), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Jason Holder, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan
Key Players to watch out for
Jason Holder: After missing out for a major duration of the tournament, Jason Holder’s addition to the SRH side has proved out to be a turning point of their campaign. He has been sensational with the ball and has already picked up 13 wickets in just the 6 games he featured in. His bowing average of 14.07 is the best in Hyderabad’s bowling line-up. He comes into the game after starring in their win against RCB where he dismissed Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal cheaply in the powerplay and ended with figures of 3/25.
Rashid Khan: One of the most consistent performers for SRH, Khan has looked off-coloured in the past few games. However, the last time these two teams met, he was as lethal as ever and finished with figures of 3 wickets for 7 runs. He has picked up 19 wickets in 15 games at an economy of 5.30 and SRH will turn to their match-winner once again to take them home.
Kagiso Rabada: The fiercest weapon in Delhi’s arsenal, Rabada has had a phenomenal run in this season barring two bad games where he went wicketless. He is the second-highest wicket-taker in the league and has 25 wickets in 15 games. He and Nortje make a deadly pace combination that has troubled the best of the batsmen. Rabada, who didn’t manage to do anything substantial in the first qualifier against Mumbai Indians, will look to live up to his reputation and give Delhi crucial breakthroughs in his spell.
