We are a week into the 13th edition of the IPL and all teams have played at least one game so far. Moreover, as many as six teams have got off the mark and have had their first win of the season. The only two teams without a win take on each other in match number eight of this IPL 2020. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost their respective first games.
KKR faced their nemesis Mumbai Indians (MI) in their opening game and the four-time champions continued to torment the Kolkata-based side extending their dominance to 20-6. Barring Sunil Narine and Shivam Mavi to an extent, KKR bowlers went the distance as MI posted 195. Meanwhile, with the bat, there was barely any intent and KKR hardly looked in the game. All they could post was 146 in their 20 overs and even that was largely due to a blitz from Pat Cummins (33 off 12 balls) late in the innings. Hence, they need to pull up their socks quickly else things could go haywire early in the tournament.
Meanwhile, SRH will be kicking themselves for not wrapping up the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). With 43 needed in the last five overs, the Hyderabad batting imploded after the fall of Jonny Bairstow. The middle-order which was a weakness in the past continued to haunt SRH.
Moreover, SRH’s overall record against KKR isn’t the best as they have a win-loss record of 7-10.
Injury and Availability News
Mitchell Marsh injured his ankle in the game against RCB and he is ruled out of this season. Jason Holder has been named as his replacement.

Key Players to Watch Out For
David Warner: The SRH skipper was slightly unlucky to have been run out at the non-striker’s end of a deflection from Umesh Yadav’s hand in the last game. However, Warner has been a run-machine in the IPL and he will be raring to go and get a big score in this game and lead from the front.
Sunil Narine: The West Indian mystery spinner was KKR’s best bowler in the first game as he returned with figures of 1/22 from his four overs. But he didn’t deliver with the bat. His role with the blade at the top has become crucial for KKR.
Shivam Mavi: The 21-year-old fast bowler from Uttar Pradesh was impressive in the first game. Mavi did leak a few runs at the death but he was excellent with the new ball. He got it to nip around and troubled the batsmen with his pace as well. He will be the one to watch out for in this game.
