IPL 2020: Match 44 – Royal Challengers Bangalore v. Chennai Super Kings Preview, Prediction, Probable Playing XI and Value bets.
Betting Preview
It’s match number 44 and a confident Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) square off against the bottom-placed Chennai Super Kings (CSK). While RCB are blooming and have been consistent, CSK have just not taken off and are struggling big time. The three-time finalists are at the third spot on the points table with seven wins and three losses. On the other hand, the three-time champions are reeling at the bottom with three wins and eight losses.
This season has been different for RCB. A lot of work has gone into tactics and planning and things are working well for them. The Virat Kohli-led side have remained consistent throughout the season and are just one win away from sealing a playoff spot. They are coming on the back of a thumping win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) where they restricted them to 84/8 in their 20 overs before strolling through to the target. All three departments have come together nicely and there are very little worries for Virat Kohli and his men this season. One thing RCB will be wary of is that they haven’t won three games in a row this season and will want to correct that in the game against CSK.
Meanwhile, the MS Dhoni-led have just not clicked this season. Be it individually or as a team, they have been poor with their performances and they have even got the tactics wrong at most times. The batting seems heavily reliant on Faf du Plessis who has stood out this season while the bowling lacks zip. Sam Curran has been a decent addition to the squad as well and has shown some spark. Barring these two, there are hardly any positives for CSK this season. They have three games to go and CSK will be hoping they can salvage some pride.
CSK are out of the playoffs race while RCB are favourites to make it to the top four. However, the latter will do well not to take CSK lightly. The Virat Kohli-led side will be aiming to continue their momentum and aim for a top-two finish.
Injury and Availability News
Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament.

Key Players to watch out for
Virat Kohli: The RCB skipper is leading the run charts for his side this season. Kohli has amassed 365 runs at an average of 60.83 in this tournament. Moreover, he has a good record against CSK and has the most runs ever in the IPL against them – 837 runs at an average of 41.85 and has registered seven fifties.
Chris Morris: The South African all-rounder has added a new dimension to the RCB bowling attack. He has been simply brilliant this season. Morris has played just five games and has picked up nine wickets at an economy of 5.00. He has shown glimpses of what he can do with the bat as well when he scored a 10-ball 25 in the only innings he batted.
MS Dhoni: This has been one of the worst seasons with the bat for the CSK skipper. He has mustered just 180 runs at an average of 25.71 and a strike-rate of 122.44. However, he faces one of his favourite sides, RCB against whom he has scored 804 runs at an average of 40.20 and a strike-rate of 143.82. Hence, he will look to finish the season with a flourish.
