IPL 2020: Match 43 – KXIP v SRH Preview, Prediction, Probable Playing XI and Value bets.

Betting Preview

In the 43rd game of Dream 11 IPL, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a do-or-die match for both sides. Both the teams have 8 points from their respective 10 games but SRH is placed above Punjab on the points table based on a higher NRR.

Kings XI Punjab have turned the tide around in their favour, ending their 5-match losing streak in style, and have gone on to defeat the top 3 teams of the tournament in three consecutive games. The addition of Chris Gayle to the playing XI has breathed a new life into the side and they will look to capitalise on the momentum and register another crucial win to keep their chances of qualification to the play-offs alive.

Punjab will be pleased as they finally find themselves ending on the right side of tight games as they did against RCB and MI. With even Glenn Maxwell back in form, Punjab’s batting looks explosive. Their batsmen have begun to show positive intent that was lacking in the first half of the tournament. Shami and Arshdeep have been phenomenal with the ball and with most of its bases covered, Punjab looks all set to go.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have been extremely inconsistent this season. After winning 3 of its first 6 games, they went on to lose three matches in a row.

Regular injuries to their star players have made a significant impact on their performance and things look gloomy in the Hyderabad camp. Due to the injuries, they were forced to continuously make changes in their playing XI. However, they will come into the game with a lot of confidence after a convincing win against Rajasthan Royals that also saw their middle-order finally find form. With Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar in form, the pressure will reduce on Bairstow and Warner who have done exceptionally well throughout the tournament.

Jason Holder has added the much needed depth to their bowling. Rashid Khan has been as deadly as ever and on paper, SRH looks like a way better side than its past performances in the tournament reflect. They have the added advantage of a higher run-rate than any other team fighting for the fourth-spot and will look to go all guns blazing to get those extremely crucial 2 points.

Injury and Availability News

Kane Williamson (SRH) is not completely fit and is likely to miss out.

Probable Playing XI

Kings XI Punjab

KL Rahul (c & wk), Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Glenn Maxwell, Deepak Hooda, James Neesham, Mohammed Shami, Murugan Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh

Sunrisers Hyderabad

David Warner (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Manish Pandey, Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Abdul Samad, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan, Shahbaz Nadeem

Key Players to watch out for

Chris Gayle: A late addition to Punjab’s playing XI, Gayle has immediately made a positive impact with the bat and has scored 106 runs in just three matches that he has played for the side and KXIP has won all of those 3 games. With him looking as destructive as ever at number 3, a lot of pressure has been relieved of the openers. If the Universe Boss gets going, it will be a mounting task for the SRH bowlers to contain him.

David Warner: One of the best white-ball batsmen in the world and the most successful overseas player in the history of IPL, Warner is having yet another successful season with the bat. He plays an instrumental role in giving explosive starts to Hyderabad and is the backbone of their batting line up. He is the highest run-scorer for SRH with 335 runs in his 10 games and Hyderabad will once again depend on him heavily.

Rashid Khan: Rashid Khan has been the highlight of SRH’s bowling and has delivered consistently for them. He has picked up 12 wickets in his 10 matches at an economy of just 5.47. He registered figures of 14 for 3 against DC, 12 for 0 against CSK and 12 for 3 against KXIP and was Hyderabad’s key bowler in the death after being asked to defend mediocre totals. Most economical bowler in the history of IPL, he is extremely lethal in the death overs making batsmen struggle to even steal singles. Khan’s ability to exploit the slower ball and his unreadable variations are expected to trouble Punjab batsmen.
