IPL 2020: Match 28 – Royal Challengers Bangalore v Kolkata Knight Riders Preview, Prediction, Probable Playing XI and Value bets.

Betting Preview

Match number 28 promises to be a mouth-watering contest. It is Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) taking on Dinesh Karthik’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Sharjah. Both teams are riding high on confidence and are tied on eight points after six games (four wins and two losses).

RCB come off a good win over their nemesis Chennai Super Kings beating them by 37 runs, the biggest RCB win this season. They’ve been solid this IPL and it is one of their best starts in the history of the tournament. Their batting is in good shape with Devdutt Padikkal firing at the top. Aaron Finch has been inconsistent but Virat Kohli’s return to form in the last few games has lent solidity alongside the evergreen AB de Villiers. The lower middle-order has been decent as well. With the return of Chris Morris, the bowling is more stable and their death bowling woes might just be resolved.

On the other hand, KKR have got out of jail in two successive matches. The two-time champions defended 167 against Chennai and 164 against Kings XI Punjab. They looked dead and buried in both those games but somehow found life and made a remarkable comeback. Their batting is looking stable but if Andre Russell’s injury keeps him out that might see them rejig the lineup. However, they’ve won their last two games because of their bowling resilience. Thus, KKR are looking very good.

Injury and Availability News

Andre Russell went down with injury in KKR’s game against KXIP and the extent of his injury is unknown. He might miss this encounter against RCB.

Probable Playing XI

Key Players to watch out for

Virat Kohli: The RCB skipper has roared back into form. Kohli smashed a match-winning 90 not out against CSK and lead his side to a convincing win. Ever since he walked out to bat in that Super Over against Mumbai, Kohli is striking the ball sweetly. In his last three innings, he has scores of 72 not out, 43 and 90 not out.

Shubman Gill: The KKR opener has been in good form. He has lent some solidity at the top of the order and is getting some big runs. He has amassed 220 runs in this season and will be looking to continue his good form.

Chris Morris: The South African all-rounder had an excellent RCB debut. He didn’t get an opportunity to bat but took three wickets and was very good with the ball. His inclusion lends a great balance and he will be the one to watch out for.
