IPL 2020: Match 26 – SRH v RR Preview, Prediction, Probable Playing XI and Value bets.

Betting Preview

The first game of the double-header on Sunday sees a revamped Sunrisers Hyderabad( SRH) meet a crestfallen Rajasthan Royals (RR). The two sides have had contrasting runs in the season – RR started strongly by winning both their games but lost their rhythm and now have lost all four games since. Whereas SRH started slowly by losing first two games but have now set their campaign on track by winning three of their last four matches

After suffering back-to-back losses in their first two games, SRH have bounced back winning three of their next four matches in style. Probably the best death bowling attack in the IPL, they are back to doing what they do best, defending average totals with ease. Warner’s impeccable rotation of the bowlers has brought out the best in them.

Their top-order that failed to fire against CSK has otherwise looked flawless with Warner, Bairstow and Williamson scoring runs. Rashid Khan looks unreadable, batsmen have struggled to score runs off his leg-spin this tournament. They will high on confidence after thumping Kings XI Punjab. They checked all the boxes to produce a near-perfect performance with Bairstow marginally missing out on a well-deserved century. He put on a 160 run opening partnership with Warner.

An imposing total of 201 only made things easier for a bowling attack that is known to defend subpar totals. Rashid Khan once again led the attack, picking up three wickets in his four overs and giving away just 12 runs. T Natrajan’s consistent yorkers have been a revelation for the SRH side and in the absence of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, he and Khaleel Ahmed must lead the pace attack.

Rajasthan, on the other hand, have looked clueless in their last four games. Their batting, that looked promising in the first two games scoring over 200 runs in both, has failed miserably in the next four. They have crossed the 150-run mark only once against RCB. The frequent top order collapses is the main reason for RR’s failure, they lack substance and depth in their lower middle order. Other than Jofra Archer, even their bowling has looked off-colour.

Rajasthan look lost trying to end their losing streak with none of their team combinations working. Add this that a lot of their ‘gun players’ have been misfiring. They head into the game after losing to DC in a match they controlled initially, getting three DC wickets in the powerplay. They failed to capitalise on this impressive start and lost by a big margin, 46 runs. RR expects its big names to deliver if they are to keep their hopes alive in the IPL and also find their right team combination.

Key Players to watch out for

Rashid Khan: SRH’s most consistent performer for some time now, Khan has been phenomenal in recent matches. He registered figures of 14 for 3 against DC, 12 for 0 against CSK and 12 for 3 against KXIP. He was also Hyderabad’s key bowler at the death after being asked to defend mediocre totals. The most economical bowler in the history of IPL, Khan’s ability to exploit the slower ball and his unreadable variations are expected to trouble RR batsmen.

Jonny Bairstow: SRH has one of the best opening pairs of the season in Bairstow and Warner. Both are in top form and providing solid starts to SRH’s innings. Bairstow has been the leading run-scorer for Hyderabad this IPL scoring 241 runs in six games, averaging over 40. He comes into the match after scoring 97 runs off just 55 balls.

Jofra Archer: The only RR bowler to trouble the opposition this season. Archer has picked up eight wickets in his six matches and has looked lethal with his pace. He comes into the match after registering figures of 24 for 3 against KXIP. He was RR’s key bowler and picked up two wickets in the powerplay. As the SRH side is often criticised as top-heavy, a few quick wickets in Archer’s spell in the powerplay will put them under a lot of pressure which Archer can do.
