IPL 2020: Match 35 -SRH vs KKR Preview, Prediction, Probable Playing XI and Value bets.
Betting Preview
Currently languishing at the middle of the points table, SRH and KKR face off in a very crucial 35th match of Dream 11 IPL. Both need a win to keep their hopes alive this season. KKR has 4 wins whereas SRH has 3 in their respective 8 games and have had very similar fortunes as both come into the game after two back-to-back losses.
Sunrisers Hyderabad started off their campaign on the wrong foot losing both of their first two games. However, they seemed to have made a comeback when they won their next two games but in vain as they went on to three of their next 4 matches. The opening pair of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow has looked destructive as both find themselves in top form. Even Kane Williamson has looked in fine touch. But the lack of batting depth has proved to be fatal for the Hyderabad side and that was evident yet again in their most recent game against CSK where they choked and failed to chase a mediocre total.
The bowling, even with the absence of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, has looked sound with young Indian pacers stepping up to the occasion. Sandeep Sharma was very effective with the new ball against CSK at the top of the innings. Rashid Khan has been as lethal as ever and even the best in the world have found it difficult to score runs off his overs. The NRR is in SRH’s favour and a win will place them in the top 4. They look like the better side on paper and must look to exploit KKR’s weaknesses to have a fighting chance to make it to the play-offs.
On the other hand, a change in captaincy hasn’t resulted in the change of fortunes for KKR as they come into the game after losing against MI in one of the most one-sided encounters of the season. They have four wins and as many losses this season and have inarguably looked the most inconsistent and vulnerable side as they have repeatedly made changes to their playing XI and none of them worked out in their favour. The main reason for their dismal campaign has been slow starts to their innings. Sunil Narine was disastrous in the powerplay and Rahul Tripathi hasn’t really been able to impress either after replacing him to open.
Shubman Gill has found himself among runs but has taken a fatal amount of time to get going. With Nitish Rana in poor form and even Andre Russell misfiring, the miseries do not seem to end for Kolkata. Eoin Morgan looks in fine touch but with no support from the other end, there is hardly anything he can do. The tactics of going with four pacers at a ground where spinners have thrived has raised a lot of eyebrows and its high time Kuldeep Yadav was given a chance in the playing XI.
Injury and Availability News
Sunil Narine might sit out of this encounter once again after he was reported for a suspect bowling action.
Probable Playing XI
Sunrisers Hyderabad
David Warner (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Abhishek Sharma, Priyam Garg, Rashid Khan, Abdul Samad, Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan
Kolkata Knight Riders
Shubman Gill, Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik (c & wk), Andre Russell, Tom Banton/Chris Green, Pat Cummins, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Prasidh Krishna, Varun Chakravarthy
Key Players to watch out for
Eoin Morgan: KKR’s newly appointed captain had a good start to the season but looked inconsistent in the middle. He comes into the game after a knock of 39 runs that came at a time when KKR was reduced to 61-5. He was involved at a 87 run partnership with Pat Cummins that gave KKR a fighting total on the board. He has shown character and his form might make a difference in the middle overs.
David Warner: One of the best white-ball batsman, Warner has looked in fine touch scoring 284 runs this season and is Dream 11 IPL’s sixth-highest run-getter. Warner, alongside Bairstow, has consistently provided SRH with a rock-solid start helping them get to defendable totals. A man of big occasions, expect him to go all guns blazing in an extremely crucial match for his side making KKR bowlers very difficult to contain him.
Rashid Khan: SRH’s most consistent star-performer for quite some time now, Khan has been phenomenal in the recently concluded matches after looking a little off-coloured initially. He registered figures of 14 for 3 against DC, 12 for 0 against CSK and 12 for 3 against KXIP and was Hyderabad’s key bowler in the death after being asked to defend mediocre totals. Most economical bowler in the history of IPL, he is extremely lethal in the death overs making batsmen struggle to even steal singles. Khan’s ability to exploit the slower ball and his unreadable variations are expected to trouble Kolkata batsmen.
