IPL 2019: HIGHEST PAID PLAYER FROM EACH TEAM

The greatest domestic T20 league is on our doorstep. Each franchise has splashed the cash to lure the best cricketers from all over the world. But who earns the most? We have compiled a list of the highest paid players from each franchise from the IPL 2019 contract extensions announced by BCCI and from the IPL auction.

Tournament Salary: R 22 978 885 (₹11 Crore)

KL Rahul was picked up by the Kings XI Punjab in the 2018 IPL auction and has impressed ever since. His performances had a major impact on the teams success and will be a vital part in this years campaign.

Tournament Salary: R 26 118 314 (₹12.5 Crore)

Is there a more unpredictable cricketer in the world right now? His performances carried KKR into the semi-finals with a very average team. It was a no brain by management to keep his in the fold and make him their highest paid player.

Tournament Salary: R 26 118 314 (₹12.5 Crore)

WAIT WHAT… Steve Smith. The fella who hasn’t played international cricket or semi competitive cricket for the last year? Yes that guy. The owners of the Rajasthan Royals have installed a tremendous amount of faith in the former Australian skipper and will expect top performances in return.

Tournament Salary: R 26 118 314 (₹12.5 Crore)

You’ve got to be kidding me? The bloke who was banned with Steve Smith. Do these franchise owners know anything about current affairs? Many fans are questioning whether he’s the same player as before his ban. Fortunately we don’t have much longer to find out.

Tournament Salary: R 31 363 523 (₹15 Crore)

I know what you’re thinking.. That’s a helluva lot of money for a babysitter. All jokes aside, pretty-boy Pant has become one of the most dynamic wicket-keeper batsman in the world. His flamboyant style singlehandedly changed the fate of many games for his previous franchise. He is definitely a player to keep an eye on!

Tournament Salary: R 31 363 523 (₹15 Crore)

Rohit Sharma is one of the most valuable players in the current Indian team. There is no surprise that the Mumbai Indians paid the big bucks for his services. He leads from the front and is an effective leader. Ingredients of a great player.

Tournament Salary: R 31 363 523 (₹15 Crore)

Are we really surprised? His middle order batting skills and finishing prowess are a valuable asset to the CSK setup. He’ll be looking at the IPL as valuable game time before the cricket World Cup. Considering that this might be his last World Cup in 2019, he would definitely want to go out with a bang.

Tournament Salary: R 35 507 056 (₹17 Crore)

When you have a suit that literally looks like its stitched out of money, there is absolutely no doubt that you are the most valuable player in world cricket right now. Virat Kohli’s consistency in scoring runs is second to none. Which is why RCB pay him the big bucks! He will be looking forward to changing the ‘Chokers’ label as they chase their first IPL title.
