Let’s break down what got these two top sides to the finals.

Australia Women

Australia remain unbeaten in the tournament so far after beating everyone in the  round-robin stage before going on to scourge West Indies Women by a  mammoth 157 runs in the semi-final. Alyssa Healy’s unbeaten century against the Windies was instrumental for the Ausies’ continued dominance in the tournament.

They are ruthless in their approach. They are clinical in all three disciplines:  batting, bowling and fielding. They have momentum on their side and are the tournament’s most successful team having won the title on six of the eleven editions of the tournament. They are a hungry team and will be looking to make it seven out of twelve when they take on England Women on 3rd April 2022.

England Women

As good as things look for the Aussies, the England Women’s team is a confident unit that has turned things around after a mediocre start to the World Cup. They  lost three and won four matches in the round-robin stage of the tournament and managed the third spot on the table.

In the second semi-final this past Thursday, they faced a stubborn, difficult-to beat Proteas Women side. The manner in which they won the semi-final is what will boost their confidence heading into the final. Senior players finally came into the party and carried the team to a 137-run victory against an in form South Africa Women’s team.

Verdict

Australia is too strong at the moment. They look unbeatable. Unless England  Women repeat their semi-final performance against SA Women, Australia  Women will win their sixth World Cup title.

Suggested Bet: Australia to win

Suggested Bet: Rachael Haynes to be Australia’s top batter

Suggested Bet: Danni Wyatt to be England’s top batter.
